Matthiew Klinck (September 5, 1978 – January 2, 2016) was a film director and producer who lived in Belize. He founded and operated the cinema arts training and production program Make-Belize Films. On January 4, 2016, Klinck was found dead outside his home in Selena, a village in Cayo District, Belize. The Canadian Film Festival, formerly known as the Canadian Filmmakers Festival, is an annual film festival in Toronto, Ontario. Showcasing a program of Canadian independent films, it is held in March of each year and usually runs for five days. Seattle True Independent Film Festival (STIFF) was started in 2005 by a group of filmmakers whose feature film Swamper was rejected by the Seattle International Film Festival. STIFF was modeled after the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City UT as a way to champion local and true independent films that they felt were being left out of the local film program.
