Hangzhou–Haining Intercity Railway
The Hanghai line () is a line of the Hangzhou Metro that connects the cities Hangzhou and Haining in Zhejiang, China. The total length is and has 13 stations, including 5 underground stations and 8 elevated stations and number of stations with passing loops for express services. The line began construction in late 2016 and opened on 28 June 2021. Opening timeline In November 2012, the Haining Municipal Government started preliminary work on the project. In December of the same year, an agreement was signed with the Yuhang District of Hangzhou. Yuhang District
Yuhang is one of ten urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, East China. Its 2013 population was estimated at 1.17 million. Its inhabitants speak both Mandarin and a variety of Hangzhounese, a Wu dialect. On April 9, 2021, Linping District was established consists of the former Yuhang subdistricts of Linping, Donghu, Nanyuan, Xingqiao, Yunhe, Qiaosi, Chongxian and the Town of Tangxi. Linping is a district of the prefecture-level city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, East China. It officially become a district on April 9, 2021. Passing Loop
A passing loop (UK usage) or passing siding (North America) (also called a crossing loop, crossing place, refuge loop or, colloquially, a hole) is a place on a single line railway or tramway, often located at or near a station, where trains or trams travelling in opposite directions can pass each other. Trains/trams going in the same direction can also overtake, provided that the signalling arrangement allows it. A passing loop is double-ended and connected to the main track at both ends, though a dead end siding known as a refuge siding, which is much less convenient, can be used. A similar arrangement is used on the gauntlet track of cable railways and funiculars, and in passing places on single-track roads.
