Hands Off Me!
''Hands Off Me!'' () is a 1937 Italian " white-telephones" comedy film directed by Gero Zambuto.Moliterno p.179 The film is notable for being the screen début of Totò. Its most famous scenes include one in which he tries to give a haircut to a bald man; another one where he fishes from the fishmonger's counter (this scene was repeated in '' Cops and Robbers'' and ''Toto in Paris'') and also the scene in which he holds a broom, using it as a gun (shooting in "Figaro here, Figaro there"). The scene involving the conductor was also repeated in many subsequent films. It was shot at the Safa Palatino Studios in Rome. Plot In his first story, Totò plays the poor wanderer who meets up with a gentleman in poor economic conditions. The two try to earn a living as best they can, but they always incur misfortune and hatred because of their ineptitude. Miranda Bonansea (31 October 1926 – 10 February 2019) was an Italian actress and voice actress. Life Born in Mondovì, Bonansea's father, Piero Bonansea was a photographer for the House of Savoy. At a young age, Bonansea moved to Rome with her family where she would become a child actress as well as a voice dubber. In 1934, she made her debut appearance in the film '' The Blind Woman of Sorrento''. She was also the official Italian voice of Shirley Temple. In the 1937 film '' Hands Off Me!'' starring Totò, Bonansea made her character very similar to Temple's likeness. Other than Shirley Temple, Bonansea has dubbed other actresses such as Judy Garland, Anne Francis, Linda Hunt, June Allyson, Jean Simmons, Jane Powell, Betty White and Marilyn Monroe. Cesare Polacco (14 May 1900 – 2 March 1986) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Life and career Born in Venice, Polacco started his career in 1920 in the stage company of Emilio Zago, with whom he played most of the Goldoni's repertoire. In 1928 he moved to Rome, where in addition to theatre he started appearing in films and working as a dubber. Being of Jewish origin, he was temporarily forced to abandon acting because of the 1938 Fascist racial laws, resuming his activities at the end of the war, in 1945.
