2022–23 Iraq Division Two
The 2022–23 Iraq Division Two will be the 49th season of the Iraq Division Two, and it is the third tier in the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have varied throughout history for various reasons; in this season the number of clubs will be 98 (in addition to 24 pre-qualified teams from the previous season, playing starting from the second round, so the total is 122 teams). The top two teams in the Final Qualifiers are promoted directly to the Iraq Division One, while the teams that fail to qualify for the second round will be relegated directly to the Iraq Division Three. The season is scheduled to start on 1 December 2022. Erbil
Erbil, also called Hawler (, ar, أربيل, Arbīl; syr, ܐܲܪܒܹܝܠ, Arbel), is the capital and most populated city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It lies in the Erbil Governorate. Kurdistan Premier League
The Kurdistan Premier League is the foremost association football league in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is overseen by the Iraqi Kurdistan Football Association. The league is not officially recognized by FIFA or any of its confederations, therefore cannot compete in their continental or intercontinental competitions. The season runs from August and finishes in May, with each playing twenty six matches each. During the season, clubs compete for the Kurdistan Cup, which follows with the Kurdistan Super Cup, a contest held between league winners and the cup winners.
