Han Ying-chieh
Han Ying-chieh (January 1, 1927 – October 15, 1991) was a Hong Kong Chinese actor. He started acting from 1966 and acted in movies such as ''Come Drink with Me'' and others. He acted in some films with Bruce Lee such as ''The Big Boss'' and ''Fist of Fury'' and with Jackie Chan in ''New Fist of Fury''. Ying-chieh has acted 60 movies from 1946 to 1991. His final performance was in The Swordsman (1990 film) as Huashan Sect elder Feng QingYang (風清揚). Death In 1990, Han was rushed to a hospital in Hong Kong where he was diagnosed with cancer. He later succumbed to the disease on October 15, 1991, after a one-year battle. He was 64 years old. Han was buried in a Hong Kong Cemetery. A Touch Of Zen
''A Touch of Zen'' (Chinese: 俠女) is a 1971 ''wuxia'' film co-edited, written, and directed by film maker King Hu. Its screenplay is based on a classic Chinese story " Xianü" in the book ''Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio'' by Pu Songling. The film is set in the Ming dynasty under the dominance of eunuchs and narrates multiple themes of transcendence of dichotomies, Zen Buddhism, feminism, conservative female roles, and the ghost story. At the 1975 Cannes Film Festival, the film won the Technical Grand Prize award. The film was produced in Taiwan and funded by the Union Film Company. Because the director Hu was a filmmaker in the Shaw Brothers Studio before moving to Taiwan, the emergence of the film established the international visibility of the Hong Kong New Wave. ''Broken Oath'' () is a 1977 Hong Kong Mandarin-language kung fu film directed by Jeong Chang-hwa, a South Korean director. The film was produced by Golden Harvest. ''The Fate of Lee Khan'' (Chinese: 迎春閣之風波) is a 1973 Hong Kong ''wuxia'' film, directed by King Hu. Plot During the waning years of the Yuan Dynasty, Mongol general Lee Khan and his sister Wan’er travel to the desolate Spring Inn in Shaanxi province to obtain a map of the tactical plans of the rebel forces. Aided by Wan Jen-Mi, innkeeper of the Spring Inn, a group of undercover resistance fighters seek to recover the map to save the rebellion. Cast Cast adapted from the 2019 Masters of Cinema blu-ray.
