Hamro Sikkim Party ( HSP) (English: Our Sikkim Party) is a regional political party (State Party (Unrecognized)) in the Indian state of Sikkim. The incumbent president of this party is Bhaichung Bhutia. Its election symbol is a Whistle. History Establishment of Hamro Sikkim Party On 31 May 2018, former footballer and former member of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Bhaichung Bhutia established the new political party, Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) at Daramdin, West Sikkim, for fighting with Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) which was the ruling political party in Sikkim. Bhaichung Bhutia said HSP is the party for opening to a federal front or third front, and he was inspired by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for fighting against corruption. Bhaichung Bhutia
Bhaichung Bhutia (born 15 December 1976), also spelled as Baichung Bhutia, is an Indian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Bhutia is considered as the torchbearer of Indian football in the international arena. He is often nicknamed the ''Sikkimese Sniper'' because of his shooting skills in football. Three-time Indian Player of the Year I. M. Vijayan described Bhutia as "God's gift to Indian football". Bhutia has had four spells at then I-League side East Bengal Club, the club where he started his career. NEBULA was a political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. NEBULA stands for Nepali Bhutia Lepcha people, Lepcha, the three largest ethnic groups in the state. NEBULA was founded in 1999 when the former Deputy Chief Minister of Sikkim, P.T. Lucksom, was expelled from Sikkim Democratic Front. SNPP didn't have any relationship with Sikkim National Party (SNP) in same state or National People's Party (NPP) in the state of Meghalaya. Biraj Adhikari
Biraj Adhikari (12 June 1961 – 7 March 2024) was an Indian politician. Born in Sikkim, Adhikari first became the general secretary of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee, a branch of the Indian National Congress. Adhikari then joined the Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad, followed by forming and becoming president of the Sikkim National People's Party. He also took part in several elections in the state of Sikkim as part of these parties and the Hamro Sikkim Party, before retiring from active politics a few months prior to his death in March 2024. Sikkim Sangram Parishad
Sikkim Sangram Parishad is a regional political party in the Indian state of Sikkim. In 1979, after a period of instability, a ministry headed by Nar Bahadur Bhandari from Sikkim Janata Parishad party gained power in Sikkim. In 1984, Bhandari dissolved Sikkim Janata Parishad and formed a new party called Sikkim Sangram Parishad. Sikkim Sangram Parishad held on to power in the 1984 and 1989 elections, but after that lost to Sikkim Democratic Front, which has swept the elections since 1999. Sikkim Sangram Parishad did not win any seats in the state assembly in the 2004 elections. Nar Bahadur Bhandari has merged Sikkim Sangram Parishad with the Indian National Congress and he became the president of the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC). Karananda Upreti, better known as K. N. Upreti is an Indian politician in Sikkim. Political career K. N. Upreti took part in the 1973 democratic movement against Chogyal Dynasty of Sikkim. From 1974 to 1975, he was the general secretary of Sikkim Student Association, Kolkata. From 1976 to 1977, he was the president of National Students' Union of India (NSUI) for Sikkim. In 1977, K. N. Upreti became the general secretary of Janata Party, Sikkim Unit under Kazi Lhendup Dorjee. Sikkim Janata Parishad
Sikkim Janata Parishad or SJP (Sikkim Popular Association) was a political party in the Indian state of Sikkim led by N.B. Bhandari. SJP won the state assembly elections 1979, when it got 22,776 votes (31,49%) and won 17 seats (had candidates in 31 out of total of 32). Bhandari became the Chief Minister. She is a professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Science and a fellow at the Institute for Cognitive Science and Center for Neuroscience at University of Colorado Boulder.
