Barry Leon Hampton (born 16 January 1941) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played first-class cricket for Central Districts from 1961 to 1968. A middle-order batsman and economical medium-pace bowler, he made his highest score, 107, for Central Districts against Canterbury in 1967-68, when he and Bryan Yuile added 219 for the seventh wicket. His best bowling figures were 6 for 7 (match figures of 33–23–19–8), when Central Districts dismissed Otago for 82 in 1963-64. Kimberly Nicole Hampton (August 18, 1976 – January 2, 2004) was a captain in the United States Army and the first female military pilot in United States history to be shot down and killed as a result of hostile fire. She was also the first woman from South Carolina to die in the Iraq War. Biography Early life Hampton was born on August 18, 1976, in Greenville, South Carolina, the only child of Dale and Ann Hampton. She was childhood friends with former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie. (Captain) Trevor Hampton AFC (28 November 1912 – 21 February 2002) was one of the United Kingdom's first scuba divers and helped to develop sport diving in the UK. Early years Trevor Arthur Hampton was born in Birmingham on 28 November 1912. He was an apprentice at the Austin Motor Company and raced motorcycles on the Isle of Man. He was an avid fan of boating and sailing and at the age of 23 bought a yacht but had to give it up because his wife was chronically seasick. He joined the RAF before the Second World War becoming a pilot on a Wellington bomber. He later became a senior test pilot, raised to the rank of flight lieutenant and received the Air Force Cross. While in the RAF at Lossiemouth in Scotland he started diving, making a crude open-circuit scuba set from a gas mask and ex-RAF aircrew oxygen cylinders. Millard Frank Hampton Jr. (born July 8, 1956) is an American former athlete, winner of gold medal in 4 × 100 m relay and the individual silver medal in the 200 meters at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Born in Fresno, California, Millard Hampton was an AAU champion in 200 m in 1976. His father, Millard Hampton Sr. was a top sprinter in his own right, placing as high as second in the CIF California State Meet 220 yards in 1952. Millard Hampton attended Silver Creek High School in San Jose, California, where he was coached by former San Jose State great Bobby Poynter, graduating in 1974 and continues to hold the school record in the 100 m at 10.4 sec. and the 200 m record at 20.8 sec.
