Hampshire Women Cricket Team
The Hampshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Hampshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Totton and Eling CC and the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground. They are captained by Emily Windsor. In 2018, they won Division One of the Women's County Championship, and were promoted from Division Two of the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers. History 1811–1996: Early History Hampshire Women played their first recorded match in 1811, against Surrey Women. They then went on to play various one-off matches against neighbouring counties, sometimes as a combined team with Dorset. Hampshire (, ; abbreviated to Hants) is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in western South East England on the coast of the English Channel. 2015 Women's County Championship
The 2015 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 19th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from May to September and saw 34 county teams and teams representing Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Yorkshire Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, with Kent finishing runners-up. The Championship was Yorkshire's sixth title since the institution of the full County Championship, and their first since 2002. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship worked on a points system, the winner being the team with most average points of completed games in the first division. South Central Counties Cup
The South Central Counties Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Southern Vipers regional team for the six counties that make up the team's region in the South of England, its first edition took place in 2022. Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Sussex are the six teams that take part in the competition. Following the end of the Women's County Championship in 2019 and the launching of the new regional structure for domestic women's cricket in England in 2020, county sides were left without any 50-over cricket. Following the launch of similar competitions such as the East of England Women's County Championship and the Women's London Championship, the South Central Counties Cup therefore aims to provide "meaningful" 50-over cricket to the county teams in the region. 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup
The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. There was no overall winner, with Lancashire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire and Rutland, Sussex, Middlesex and Devon winning their individual groups. Format Teams played matches within a series of regional divisions, playing three matchdays, with most matchdays consisting of two matches between the same teams. Finty May Trussler (born 8 May 2003) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Hampshire and Southern Vipers. She plays as a right-arm leg break bowler. Domestic career Trussler made her county debut in 2021, for Hampshire against Middlesex in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. She went on to be the leading wicket-taker across the whole tournament, taking 16 wickets in her 6 matches at an average of 6.50. In her third match of the tournament, she took her Twenty20 best bowling figures, of 4/12 against Sussex. She played three matches in the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, taking one wicket. The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions. The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, following a restructuring of women's cricket in England that saw the ending of the Women's County Championship, the Twenty20 Cup was the only nationwide tournament featuring county sides in 2021. Providence Ann Courtenay Cowdrill (born 31 March 1999) is an English cricketer who plays as a right-arm leg break bowler. She has played for Hampshire and Southern Vipers. Early life Cowdrill was born on 31 March 1999 in Frimley, Surrey. Domestic career Cowdrill made her county debut in 2015, for Hampshire against Devon, and took 3/7 from 1.5 overs. In 2016, she hit her Twenty20 high score, of 33 * against Wales. In 2017, Cowdrill took 10 wickets at an average of 18.60 in the County Championship as Hampshire were promoted to Division 1. Suzannah Wilson Bates (born 16 September 1987) is a New Zealand cricketer and former captain of national women cricket team. Born at Dunedin, she plays domestic cricket for the Otago Sparks, as well as playing for the White Ferns. She currently holds the highest score and highest batting average in the New Zealand Women's Twenty20 cricket team. She won the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2013. Charlotte Marie Edwards (born 17 December 1979) is an English former cricketer and current cricket coach and commentator. She played primarily as a right-handed batter.
