''Hammered'' is the sixteenth studio album by British rock band Motörhead, released on 9 April 2002 via Steamhammer, their sixth with the label and beating the Bronze Records era total of original full-length album releases. It was also the beginning of distribution in North America, and other territories, under Sanctuary Records and their subsidiary Metal-Is. Recording ''Hammered'' was released on Metal-Is, a rock label owned by the then-new Sanctuary Records. The album was recorded in the Hollywood Hills at Chuck Reid's house with Thom Pannunzio producing. By this time, Motörhead had recorded several albums as a three-piece, with drummer Mikkey Dee, guitarist Phil Campbell, and original vocalist/bassist, Lemmy. Wicked Tinkers
The Wicked Tinkers are an United States, American Celtic music group who perform at many Scottish/Irish festivals. History The group was formed in the early 1990's when piper Aaron Shaw met bass drum player Warren Casey and percussionist John MacAdams at The Celtic Arts Center in Los Angeles, California. They have been a professional touring band since 1995. They play regularly at Scottish Festivals and Highland Games, and festivals have sometimes changed their dates to allow the Wicked Tinkers play for them. The band headlines at many Renaissance festivals as well, including the Northern California Renaissance Faire. They also have played many charity concerts including cancer benefits, and even a concert to support a Pregnant Mare Rescue horse sanctuary. Aaron Shaw has been playing the bagpipes since 1976. Hammered coinage is the most common form of coins produced since the invention of coins in the first millennium BC until the early modern period of c. the 15th–17th centuries, contrasting to the cast coinage and the later developed milled coinage. History Hammered coins were produced by placing a blank piece of metal (a ''planchet'' or ''flan'') of the correct weight between two dies, and then striking the upper die with a hammer to produce the required image on both sides. The planchet was usually cast from a mold. The bottom die (sometimes called the ''anvil die'') was usually counter sunk in a log or other sturdy surface and was called a ''pile''. One of the minters held the die for the other side (called the ''trussel''), in his hand while it was struck either by himself or an assistant. Hammer paint (or hammered paint) is a special lacquer with a surface that looks like hammered metal when dried. It is also known as hammertone. Composition The slightly iridescent areas are caused by the different orientation of very small shiny particles, which are suspended in the lacquer.
