Hamide Akbayir
Hamide Akbayir (born 10 May 1959 in Frac, Tunceli Province, Turkey) is a German politician and member of the Left North Rhine-Westphalia, a state chapter of the Left Party of Germany. Life Hamide Akbayir has lived in Germany since 1972 and completed her Fachabitur (a kind of Abitur that prepares students for Fachhochschule) in 1977. In 1980 she graduated as a Chemical Technician, and since then, she has worked for the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Cologne. She was a member of the Alliance 90/The Greens from 1993 until 1997, and in 1998 she joined the Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS). From 1998 until 2004 she belonged to the Foreigner Advisory Board of the city of Cologne. In 2007 she became a member of the state party governing body for the Left in North Rhine-Westphalia. Hamide Kurt Doğangün (born Hamide Kurt, December 25, 1993) is a Turkish Paralympian athlete competing in the T53 disability class sprint events of 100m and 400m, T52/ T53 class middle-distance event of 800m as well as T53/ T54 class 4 × 400 m relay event. Early years Hamide Kurt was born in Istanbul, Turkey on December 25, 1993. At the age of nine, she had a traffic accident in Istanbul. After nearly two years of treatment in a hospital, she lost the ability to walk, and became reliant on a wheelchair. Sporting career Hamide Kurt began her sporting career in wheelchair basketball at Bağcılar Belediye SK in Istanbul. After realizing that she is not good in this sport branch, she switched over to the para-athletics in the same club. In 2008, she took part at the Turkish Para-athletics Championships, and her success led to her admission to the national team.
