Hamdy Wahiba
Hamdy Wahiba (sometimes spelled as Hamdy Wheiba, Hamdy Wehieba or Hamdy El Wahiba), is a retired lieutenant general of the Egyptian Army. He served as the 17th chief of general staff in the Egyptian Armed Forces from 31 October 2001 to 29 October 2005. He also served as chairperson of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) from 2005 to 2012. Preceded by Magdy Hatata, Wahiba was previously appointed as commander of the Republican Guard in 1997. He was the sixth commander of the guard under Mubarak. Biography Wahiba graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy in 1966, and subsequently joined infantry battalion, which participated in the Six-Day War. Lieutenant General
Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a three-star military rank (NATO code OF-8) used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal. A lieutenant general commands an army corps, made up of typically three army divisions, and consisting of around 60 000 to 70 000 soldiers (U.S.). Republican Guard (Egypt)
The Egyptian Republican Guard ( ar, قوات الحرس الجمهوري, El-Haras el-Gomhoury) is a Division level command within the Egyptian Army, designed to be an armored division with the main responsibilities of defending the President of the Republic as well as the major presidential and strategic institutions, including the Presidential Palaces, Command centers, and presidential airports. It is one of the largest Divisional commands in Egypt with a heavy emphasis on Armoured and Mechanized warfare. It is the most senior Corps in the Egyptian Army. Egyptian Military Academy
The Egyptian Military Academy ( ar, الكلية الحربية) is the oldest and most prominent military academy in Egypt. Traditionally, graduates of the Military Academy are commissioned as officers in the Egyptian Army. However, they may serve in other branches and commands of the Egyptian military establishment. The Military Academy contains branches, which provide additional training and skills. The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) ( ar, الهيئة العربية للتصنيع) is an Egypt-based Arab military organization established in 1975 by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar to supervise the collective development of the Arab defense industry. Following a gradual deterioration in relations between the AOI member-states, Egypt became sole owner of AOI in 1993. As well as meeting the requirements of the Egyptian military, AOI directs spare capacity to civilian programmes, including civilian transport and sanitation equipment; additionally, AOI has stated its intention of entering the wind power sector. Egyptian Armed Forces

Magdy Hatata
Magdy Hatata (born 1941) is an Egyptian military officer who held various positions during the Presidency of Hosni Mubarak. Biography Hatata was born in 1941. He received a master of arts degree in military science and a fellowship of the Nasser Military Academy’s Higher War College. He served as the commander of the second field army. He also headed the Republican Guard being the fifth commander of the guard under Mubarak. He was one of the military personnel fought against Israel in 1973. Hatata was promoted to the rank of the lieutenant general. He was appointed chief of staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces on 31 October 1995 replacing Salah Halabi in the post.
