Hamazkayin (), short for Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, is a major cultural organization of the Armenian Diaspora, with a presence in every significant Armenian community worldwide. In addition to organizing cultural events in local Armenian communities, the Hamazkayin runs three schools; publishes books through its printing press; maintains bookstores; publishes a monthly literary magazine, ''Pakin'' (), organizes the ''Hamazkayin Forum'' and has established H-Pem of their Hamapem establishment. Hamazkayin enjoys the support of a wide segment of the Armenian community and encourages active participation to the events sponsored by the community. Hamazkayin sponsors and organizes many cultural events; such as concerts by renowned artists, scientific seminars, film festivals, literary lectures and book reviews. H-Pem (stylized as h-pem) is a collaborative English-language Armenian cultural online platform and publication established by Hamapem of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society. Kasbar Ipegian (b. 1883 - d. 1952) was a Lebanese Armenian and one of the most important figures of Armenian theater. Ipegian was a lawyer by profession; he had studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and had a talent for learning foreign languages. Levon Shant ( hy, Լեւոն Շանթ; born Levon Nahashbedian, then changed to Levon Seghposian; 6 April 1869 – 29 November 1951) was an Armenian playwright, novelist, poet and founder of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society. Biography He was a lifelong member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and is the namesake of the ARF's Shant Student Association. He attended Armenian school at Scutari ( Uskudar) until 1884 and then went to the Gevorgian seminary at Echmiadzin until 1891. He returned to Constantinople to teach and write; his first literary work was accepted by the daily Hairenik of that city in 1891. Nor Serount Cultural Association is an Armenians, Armenian cultural organization with several branches throughout the world. First established in 1954 in Beirut, Lebanon, the association is a cultural branch of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party. Its founding members were Manuel Atamian, Hrant Kankrouni, Sarkis Khayian, Kapriel Moloyan, Jirair Nayiri, Hagop Norashkharian (Norouni), and Bebo Simonian. The organization aims to promote and preserve Armenian culture in the Armenian diaspora. Some of its activities include folk dancing, radio stations, book presentations, and art exhibitions. Hamazasp "Hamo" Ohanjanyan (; 1873 – 31 July 1947) was an Armenian doctor, revolutionary, and politician of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF/Dashnaktsutiun). He served as the third Prime Minister of the First Republic of Armenia from May 5 to November 23, 1920. Biography Hamo Ohanjanyan was born in 1873 in the Armenian-majority town of Akhalkalak (modern-day Akhalkalaki, Georgia) in the Tiflis Governorate of the Russian Empire. He first went to school in his birthplace, then moved to Tiflis (Tbilisi) and graduated from the Tiflis Russian Gymnasium. Nikol Poghosi Aghbalian ( hy, Նիկոլ Պողոսի Աղբալյան; 1875, Tiflis – 1947, Beirut) was an Armenian public figure and historian of literature, the editor of ''Horizon'' paper. Aghbalian was born in 1873 in Tbilisi. His primary education was in Tbilisi's Nersisyan school, followed by a seminary education. He studied at Moscow State University, then in Lausanne and Sorbonne, worked as a teacher in Agulis, Shusha and Tiflis, and headed the Armenian National college in Iran. In 1914 he returned to Russian Armenia and participated in the National Bureau, working with the survivors of Armenian genocide.
