Ham Sandwich (band)
Ham Sandwich (stylized as HamsandwicH) are an Irish indie rock band from Kells, County Meath, Kells, County Meath. The band originally consisted of Niamh Farrell (vocals), Podge McNamee (vocals and guitar), Brian Darcy (guitar and piano), John Moore (bass guitar) and Ollie Murphy (drums). On 12 April 2010, Moore announced he was leaving the group. The band subsequently hired David McEnroe as his replacement. To date, the band have released four studio albums: ''Carry the Meek'' (2008), ''White Fox (album), White Fox'' (2010), ''Stories from the Surface'' (2015) and ''Magnify'' (2022). Kells (; ) is a town in County Meath, Ireland. The town lies off the M3 motorway, from Navan and from Dublin. Along with other towns in County Meath, it is within the "commuter belt" for Dublin, and had a population of 6,135 as of the 2016 census. It is best known as the site of Kells Abbey, from which the Book of Kells takes its name. Bon Jovi is an American Rock music, rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey. The Academy is a music venue located in Dublin, Ireland. It consists of four floors, each for differing music tastes. The Academy was the venue where The Killers performed an intimate show in August 2008, one night before a performance in Marlay Park. Others to have played the venue in 2008 include Black Kids, Sam Sparro, The Futureheads and Stereophonics. The Village (music Venue)
The Village is a music venue situated next to Whelan's on Wexford Street, Dublin, Ireland. Formerly a nightclub owned by Mean Fiddler, in 2003 it was turned into a music venue. It has a large balcony and a capacity of 550. On 16 March 2008 at approximately 01:15, The Village caught fire. Over 800 people inside at the time were evacuated safely within seven minutes. The fire affected mainly the front of the premises and the damage to the building was not extensive. The fire was blamed on an electrical fault. The Gathering Ireland 2013, referred to as The Gathering was a tourism-led initiative in Ireland. It aimed to mobilise the Irish diaspora to return to Ireland during 2013 to be part of specially organised local gatherings and events during the year. It was a government supported initiative driven primarily by Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, and Tourism Ireland. The concept relied on grassroots initiatives of private individuals, and non-governmental organisations. The Gathering was not a single event but provided an umbrella framework for varying activities throughout 2013, from family reunions and clan gatherings to sports fixtures.
