Halvor Næs
Halvor Næs (19 April 1928 – 13 October 2022) was a Norwegian ski jumper who competed in the 1950s. His only victory was in 1953 and he finished fifth in the individual large hill event at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo. He was born in Trysil. Jan Halvor Halvorsen (born 8 March 1963, in Bamble) is a former Norwegian football player and the current manager of Lyn. A political scientist by education, he spent most of his career in the Federation of Norwegian Industries and Orkla Group. Halvor Steenerson (June 30, 1852 – November 22, 1926) was an American Republican politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Minnesota's 9th congressional district from 1903 to 1923. Background Halvor Steenerson was born at Pleasant Springs near Madison Dane County, Wisconsin. He moved with his parents to Sheldon, Houston County, Minnesota, in 1853. He attended Houston County Elementary School and graduated from Rushford High School in Rushford, Minnesota. He studied law at the Union College of Law in Chicago. Halvor Enok Sørum (5 April 1897 – 1965) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Communist Party. He was a painter by profession. He joined Norges Socialdemokratiske Ungdomsforbund (NSU) in 1914, the Norwegian Labour Party in 1915. When NSU changed its name to the Young Communist League in 1921, Sørum chaired the Hedmark branch from 1922 to 1923. In 1923 he broke away from the Labour Party, joining the new Communist Party. He led the party's agitprop committee, and was an editorial board member of '' Proletaren'' from 1925 to 1927. He was a politburo member in 1929, and then from 1932. He was also a central board member; illegally so during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany which started in 1940. Halvor Schou
Halvor Arntzen Schou (11 May 1823 – 5 February 1879) was a Norwegian industrialist. He was the founder of the Hjula Væveri weaving mill in Oslo. Biography Halvor Schou was born in Christiania (now Oslo, Norway). He was a son of Christian Schou (1792–1874) and Birgitte Halvordine Ramm (1796–1877). His father established Schous Brewery (''Schous bryggeri'') in 1837. He attended Oslo Cathedral School and later traveled to Lübeck to attend a trade school. He returned in 1842 and first worked for the Schou Brewery. When his father died in 1874, he took over operation of the brewery. By 1841, the United Kingdom began exporting steam engines and weaving machines. Schou founded the weaving mill Hjula Væveri (built from 1854 to 1856), which exploited the waterfall Hjulafossen on the Akerselva.
