Halvdan Koht
Halvdan Koht (7 July 1873 – 12 December 1965) was a Norwegian historian and politician representing the Labour Party. Born in the north of Norway to a fairly distinguished family, he soon became interested in politics and history. Starting his political career in the Liberal Party, he switched to the Labour Party around the turn of the 20th century. He represented that party in the Bærum municipal council for parts of the interwar period. He was never elected a member of Parliament, but served nonetheless as Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1935 to 1940, as part of the government-in-exile following Germany's invasion of Norway. In the latter capacity he sought to preserve Norway's neutrality in the Second World War, a decision that garnered him political infamy. Growing discontentment with Koht's political decisions ultimately led to his exit from the cabinet. Halvdan The Black
Halfdan the Black (Old Norse: ''Halfdanr Svarti''; fl. c. 9th century) was a king of Vestfold. He belonged to the House of Yngling and was the father of Harald Fairhair, the first king of a unified Norway. In sagas According to ''Heimskringla'' and ''Fagrskinna'', Halfdan was the son of the Yngling King Gudrød the Hunter. ''Heimskringla'' also names his mother, as Åsa, daughter of King Harald of Agder, and his half-brother as Olaf Geirstad-Alf. Heimskringla relates that when Halfdan's father was killed, Åsa took the 1 year-old Halfdan and returned to Agder, where Halfdan was raised. Halvdan Sivertsen
Halvdan Sivertsen (born 5 January 1950) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was born in Tromsø, but raised and lives in Bodø. He has won Spellemannprisen awards five times, twice with his group Gitarkameratene, and received the ''Culture Prize of Nordland county'' in 2000. His album ''Kjærlighetslandet'' reached number eight on the Norway albums chart. The Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists awarded him the "lyrics of the year"-prize in 2010 and an accompanying grant totalling 25 000 Norwegian kroner, for his song ''Dødsbra dop'' — a criticism of Norwegian soldiers' behaviour in Afghanistan, and Norwegian politicians.

Halvdan Skard
Halvdan Skard (born 1 December 1939) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Oslo as a son of Åse Gruda Skard and Sigmund Skard, and through Åse the grandson of Halvdan Koht and Karen Grude Koht. He has two sisters Torild Skard and Målfrid Grude Flekkøy, who are twins, and himself has a twin brother Åsmund. He grew up in Trondheim, but when World War II reached Norway in 1940 the family fled to the United States via Sweden, the Soviet Union and Japan, returning in 1945. He later finished his secondary education at Oslo Cathedral School. He studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison from 1962 to 1963 and in Paris from 1969 to 1970. He graduated with the cand.philol. degree from the University of Oslo in 1972. He joined the Labour Party in 1965, and became involved in local politics, first in Stavanger and later in Bærum. Halvdan Ljøsne (31 May 1929 in Vågå, Oppland – 6 February 2006) was a Norwegian painter. He was born in Vågå. He took his education at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1949 to 1950, the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1953 (under Aage Storstein and Jean Heiberg) and the Academie Ranson from 1953 to 1954. He worked as a lecturer at the Norwegian Institute of Technology from 1958 to 1967. He was then a professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts from 1967 to 1983, serving as rector from 1974 to 1977. Trygve Halvdan Lie ( , ; 16 July 1896 – 30 December 1968) was a Norwegian politician, labour leader, government official and author. He served as Norwegian foreign minister during the critical years of the Norwegian government in exile in London from 1940 to 1945. From 1946 to 1952 he was the first Secretary-General of the United Nations. Early life Lie was born in Kristiania (now Oslo) on 16 July 1896. His father, carpenter Martin Lie, left the family to emigrate to the United States in 1902, and was never heard from again. Trygve grew up under poor conditions together with his mother Hulda and a sister who was six at the time. His mother ran a boarding house and café in Grorud in Oslo. Halvdan Wexelsen Freihow (22 November 1883 – 20 December 1965) was a Norwegian priest and culturist. He was born in Tana, and graduated with the cand.theol. degree in 1909. In 1937 he earned the dr.philos. degree for a thesis on the psychological aspect of Henrik Ibsen's ''Brand''. He was an avid proponent of the written language form Nynorsk, and chaired Noregs Ungdomslag from 1926 to 1936. He was later a vicar in Skien. Halvdan Aarsrud (29 September 1878 – 25 July 1925) was a Norwegian bailiff and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Våler, Hedmark as a son of farmer and politician Hermann Hansen Aarsrud (1837–1927) and Amalie Lundeby (1849–1915). After finishing primary school and county school, he graduated from Jønsberg Agricultural School. In 1907, he settled as a farmer in Våler, first at the farm Nervåle and later at Sole. From 1918, he was also the bailiff of Våler; and he was the director of the local savings bank. In Våler, he was a member of the municipal council from 1913 to 1925, serving as mayor from 1913 to 1918. He was also a member of the school board and county roads committee.
