Hallvard Eika
Hallvard Eika (5 December 1920 – 17 May 1989) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Telemark in 1969, and was re-elected on one occasion. During his first term he served twice in different cabinets. On 21 August 1970 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture during the centre-right cabinet Borten, replacing Bjarne Lyngstad. He held the position until the cabinet Borten fell in 1971. Meanwhile, Eika was busy with his appointment to the Borten cabinet, Sigurd Kalheim took his seat in Parliament. When the next centrist government was formed in 1972 by Prime Minister Lars Korvald, Eika was appointed Minister of Trade and Shipping and again had to leave his seat in Parliament. The Minister of Trade and Shipping ( no, Handels- og sjøfartsministeren) was a councilor of state and chief of the Norway's Ministry of Trade and Shipping. The position was created on 6 December 1947 when the position of Minister of Trade and Industry was split into a portfolio for trade and shipping, and a Minister of Industry. As a prelude, a separate Minister of Shipping had been created between 1942 and 1945 to lead the Ministry of Shipping. The Minister of Trade and Industry had its own ministry until 1988, when the responsibility was taken over by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Minister of Agriculture and Food ( no, Landbruks- og matministeren) is a councilor of state and chief of the Norway's Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The ministry is responsible for issues related to agriculture, forestry and food. Major subordinate agencies include the Norwegian Agriculture Authority, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority and Statskog. The position was created on 31 March 1900, along with the ministry, and Ole Anton Qvam was the inaugural officeholder. Fifty people from eight parties have held the office. During the German occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1945, the office was both held by a German puppet government and an elected government in London. Until 2004 the position was known as the Minister of Agriculture. Jens Ingebret Evensen
Jens Ingebret Evensen (5 November 1917 – 15 February 2004) was a Norwegian lawyer, judge, politician (for the Labour Party), trade minister, international offshore rights expert, member of the International Law Commission and judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. He negotiated Norway's trading deal with European Economic Community in 1972 as minister of commerce in which he served in the governments of both Trygve Bratteli and Odvar Nordli. Per Andreas Hildhe Kleppe (13 April 1923 – 10 March 2021) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party. He was the Minister of Trade and Shipping in 1971–1972 during the first cabinet Bratteli, and later the Minister of Finance from 1973 to 1979 during the second cabinet Bratteli and the cabinet Nordli. In 1979 he was replaced by Ulf Sand, but Kleppe returned in 1980 to head the Secretariat for Long-Term Planning (until 1981). He served as General Secretary of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) from 1981 to 1988. Ole Rømer Aagaard Sandberg (21 July 1900 – 26 August 1985) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Centre Party. He chaired the Norwegian Agrarian Association from 1951 to 1955 and was a member of Parliament from 1957 to 1965.
