''Hello Porter'' (German: ''Hallo Dienstmann'') is a 1952 Austrian comedy film directed by Franz Antel and starring Paul Hörbiger, Hans Moser and Maria Andergast. Dassanowsky p.68 It was shot at the Schönbrunn Studios in Vienna. The film's sets were designed by the art director Felix Smetana. Hörbiger and Moser appeared again together in the 1958 film '' Hello Taxi''. Synopsis A series of confusions emerge between Professor Ferdinand Godai, a music academic masquerading as porter and Anton Lischka an authentic Dienstmann. Franz Antel
Franz Antel (28 June 1913 – 11 August 2007) was a veteran Austrian filmmaker. Born in Vienna, Antel worked mainly as a film producer in the interwar years. After World War II, he began writing and directing films on a large scale. In the late 1940s, 1950s and 1960s these were mainly comedies ( romantic, slapstick, and/or musical) and K.u.k. films' all of which, for Austrian and German TV stations alike, have been a staple of weekend afternoon programming ever since. In between there is quite a sober film about the Oberst (Colonel) Redl affair that shook the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy on the eve of World War I. Antel himself later commented on this period, "I always wanted to provide good entertainment for the people at the cinema. Annie Rosar (May 17, 1888 – August 5, 1963) was an Austrian stage and film actress who is best remembered today for her appearances in many Austrian comedy films from the 1930s to the early 1960s. In those movies, she was frequently cast in the comic roles of nagging wife (for example in ''Ungeküsst soll man nicht schlafen gehn'' opposite Hans Moser), "evil" mother-in-law, or understanding housekeeper, whether in rural (''Heimatfilme'') or urban settings. She occasionally also appeared in serious films, including her cameo performance as the porter's wife in ''The Third Man'' (1949), and in ' based on the novel by Franz Werfel in 1958. Susi Nicoletti
Susi Nicoletti (3 September 1918 – 5 June 2005) was a Bavarian-born actress best remembered today for over 100 supporting roles mostly in comedy films. She was born as Susanne Emilie Luise Adele Habersack in Munich, but spent most of her childhood with her parents in Amsterdam. Back in Munich, she made her stage debut at age 13. Two years later she became a ballerina. In the early 1930s she turned to cabaret. In 1939, she was offered her first film role. In 1940 she moved to Vienna, where she became a member of the Burgtheater. After her retirement in 1992 she continued her stage career at the Theater in der Josefstadt. For decades, Nicoletti taught acting and dance at the prestigious Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. Her husband, Ernst Haeussermann, was a theatre director. Death Nicoletti died in Vienna of complications after heart surgery, aged 86. Her son, daughter and grandchildren live in the United States.
