Hallfield
Hallfield or Hallfields is an area predominantly of council estates in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. The area is situated east of the town centre. The area is home to Wetherby High School. History and development The Hallfield area was for many years before residential development largely in the grounds of the Hallfield Mansions, a large house which lay derelict for many years until it was replaced in the 2000s by a medical centre. The area was from the 1930s to the 1950s home to the landship, HMS Ceres. Until the post-war years, however, the area remained largely undeveloped. Post war demand for social housing lead to the building of the early parts of the Hallfields Estate in the 1950s. The early parts of the estate centres on First, Second, Third and Fourth Avenue. Wetherby
Wetherby () is a market town and civil parish in the City of Leeds district, West Yorkshire, England, close to West Yorkshire county's border with North Yorkshire, and lies approximately from Leeds City Centre, from York and from Harrogate. The town stands on the River Wharfe, and for centuries has been a crossing place and staging post on the Great North Road midway between London and Edinburgh. Wetherby High School
Wetherby High School (formerly Wetherby Secondary Modern School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in the Hallfield area of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. The school is run by the City of Leeds Local Education Authority. It is situated on Hallfield Lane, on the Hallfields Estate in Wetherby, and adjacent to the Wetherby Campus of Leeds City College, formerly Park Lane College. Harehills is an inner-city area of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is approximately north east of Leeds city centre. Harehills is situated between the A58 (towards Wetherby) and the A64 (towards York). It sits in the Gipton & Harehills ward of Leeds City Council and the Leeds East parliamentary constituency, between Burmantofts and Gipton, and adjacent to Chapeltown. Oakwood is a suburb of north-east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, that lies between Gipton and Roundhay Park. Collingham, West Yorkshire
Collingham is a village and civil parish south-west of Wetherby in West Yorkshire, England. It is in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 2,991. It sits in the Harewood ward of Leeds City Council and Elmet and Rothwell parliamentary constituency. The River Wharfe runs through the village towards Wetherby, as does the main A58 trans-Pennine road. The A659 passes through the village. City Square, Leeds
City Square is a paved area north of Leeds railway station at the junction of Park Row, Leeds, Park Row to the east and Wellington Street to the south. It is a triangular area where six roads meet: Infirmary Street and Park Row to the north, Boar Lane and Bishopsgate Street to the south-east, and Quebec Street and Wellington Street to the south-west. The only building with a direct frontage is the former General Post Office, on the north-west side. History Proposals were made in 1893 to transform the area in front of the station. The demolition of Leeds' Coloured Cloth Hall and Quebec House gave an open space in which a new General Post Office was constructed in 1896 with a public space in front.
