Hallett Peak
Hallett Peak is a mountain summit in the northern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The peak is located in the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness, southwest by west ( bearing 240°) of the Town of Estes Park, Colorado, United States, on the Continental Divide between Grand and Larimer counties. Mountain Hallett Peak is on the Continental Divide, flanked by Flattop Mountain to the north and Otis Peak to the south. Just to its east lie Emerald Lake, Dream Lake, and Nymph Lake, access to which is usually from the Bear Lake Comfort Station. ''Fifty Classic Climbs of North America'' is a climbing guidebook and history written by Steve Roper and Allen Steck. It is considered a classic piece of climbing literature, known to many climbers as simply "The Book", and has served as an inspiration for more recent climbing books, such as Mark Kroese's ''Fifty Favorite Climbs''. Though much of the book's contents are now out of date, it is still recognized as a definitive text which goes beyond the traditional guidebook. History The first edition was published in 1979, by Sierra Club Books in the United States and in Great Britain by the now-defunct Diadem Books. This was followed by a paperback printing by Random House in 1981. Two subsequent editions (with the same content) were published by Sierra Club Books in 1982 and 1996. Bierstadt Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, USA
Bierstadt is a borough of the city of Wiesbaden, capital of the state of Hesse, Germany. It is located in the eastern part of the city, directly east of downtown Wiesbaden, and has about 12,300 inhabitants. Formerly an independent municipality, the settlement was incorporated into Wiesbaden on April 1, 1928. While ''Bierstadt'' can be translated "Beer Town," the name is actually derived from Brigid of Kildare (german: Brigida von Kildare), patron saint of Bierstadt (''Birgidstadt''). History The earliest traces of settlement in the Bierstadt area date to the Stone Age. Bear Lake Comfort Station
The Bear Lake Comfort Station, also known as the Bear Lake Generator Building, in Rocky Mountain National Park was designed by the National Park Service Branch of Plans and Designs is the National Park Service Rustic style and was built in 1940. It was converted for use as a generator house at an unknown date and apparently no longer serves its former purpose as a public toilet.
