Halit Berzeshta
Halit Bey Bërzeshta (1840 – 1909) was an Ottoman Albanian people, Albanian military physician and activist of the Albanian National Awakening. Biography Bërzeshta was born in Bërzeshta, Vilayet of Monastir, Ottoman Albania (today Librazhd District, Albania) in 1840. He was a member of the Secret Association of the Albanians of Monastir ( sq, Organizata e Fshehtë e Shqiptareve të Manastirit), the Secret Committee for the Liberation of Albania, and one of the main Albanian activists in Monastir, Macedonia, Monastir, where he joined forces with Bajo Topulli supporting guerrilla fighting against the Ottoman government. He died in 1909. Bajo Topulli
Bajo Topulli (1868 – 24 July 1930), born Bajram Fehmi Topulli, was an Albanian nationalist figure of the Albanian National Awakening. Bajo was the older brother of Çerçiz Topulli. Early life In Monastir while he was a director in the Ottoman Secondary school (idadiye) Topulli founded in November 1905 the Secret Committee for the Liberation of Albania. Members of the committee were tasked with preparation for armed activities against the Ottoman Empire and Topulli was sent for agitation to the Prespa and Korçë regions. In March 1906 at the Bektashi tekke of Melçan he and his brother Çerçiz founded the first Albanian nationalist armed guerrilla band. It was based in the Kolonjë region and consisted of several of his students from Monastir who had left their studies and some local peasants to fight against Ottoman rule. Bitola (; mk, Битола ) is a city in the southwestern part of North Macedonia. Secret Committee For The Liberation Of Albania
The Secret Committee for the Liberation of Albania ( sq, Komiteti i fshehtë për lirinë e Shqipërisë) was a secret committee founded in Manastir (modern day Bitola) by Bajo Topulli and other Albanian nationalists in November 1905 to fight for the secession of Albania from the Ottoman Empire. This committee was soon followed by many other similar committees in southern Albania, and aimed at overthrowing the Ottoman rule. The committee was formed mainly by Albanian intellectual figures and had branches throughout the Albanian lands.
