Hale Center Theatre
Hale Centre Theatre is a theatre company headquartered in Sandy, Utah. Their mission statement is “enriching lives through world-class theatre.” In 1985, Ruth and Nathan Hale partnered with their daughter, Sally Hale Rice, and their oldest grandson, Mark Dietlein and his wife (also Sally) to start a theatre in Utah. They converted an old lingerie factory in South Salt Lake to a theatre-in-the-round with 220 seats. After a couple of expansions, they moved into a new facility in West Valley City in 1998. After selling out all 613 seats at Harman Hall on a regular basis, a new partnership was formed with Sandy City in 2017 as they opened the new home of Hale Centre Theatre at the Mountain America Performing Arts Centre. Hale Centre Theatre provides traditional play and musical theatre productions on two state-of-the-art stages under one roof in Sandy City. Sandy is a city in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, located in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. The population of Sandy was 87,461 at the 2010 census, making it the sixth-largest city in Utah. The population is currently estimated to be about 96,380 according to the July 1, 2019 United States Census estimates. Sandy is home to the Shops at South Town shopping mall; the Jordan Commons entertainment, office and dining complex; and the Mountain America Exposition Center. The Pasadena Playhouse is a historic performing arts venue located 39 S. El Molino Avenue in Pasadena, California, United States. The 686-seat auditorium produces a variety of cultural and artistic events, professional shows, and community engagements each year. History Beginning around 1912, the period known as the Little Theatre Movement developed in cities and towns across the United States. The artistic community that founded the Pasadena Playhouse was started in 1916 when actor-director Gilmor Brown began producing a series of plays at a renovated burlesque theatre with his troupe "The Gilmor Brown Players". Gary Herbert
Gary Richard Herbert (born May 7, 1947) is an American politician who served as the 17th Governor of Utah from 2009 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he chaired the National Governors Association during the 2015–2016 cycle. Herbert won a seat on the Utah County Commission in 1990, where he served 14 years. He ran for the Republican nomination for governor in 2004, ultimately becoming fellow Republican candidate Jon Huntsman's running mate in the general election.
