Haldor Lillenas
Haldor Lillenas (19 November 1885 – 18 August 1959) was "one of the most important twentieth-century gospel hymn writers and publishers" and is regarded as "the most influential Wesleyan / Holiness songwriter and publisher in the 20th century". Additionally, Lillenas was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, author, song evangelist, poet, music publisher and prolific hymnwriter, who is estimated to have composed over 4,000 hymns, the most famous being ''Wonderful Grace of Jesus''. In 1931 Lillenas was the producer of ''Glorious Gospel Songs'', the first hymnal for the Church of the Nazarene. In 1982 Lillenas was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Haldor Børve
Haldor Larsen Børve (19 August 1857 – 11 August 1933) was an architect from Ullensvang in Hordaland, Norway. Børve started an architectural practice in Porsgrunn in 1889 and designed numerous buildings in Telemark and Vestfold, many of them influenced by Dragestil and the Nordic National Romantic style. Among his best-known works are Dalen Hotel from 1894 and Porsgrunn City Hall from 1904/1905. Background Børve was born in Ullensvang in 1857 to farmer Lars Jørgensen Børve (1815–91) and Anna Haldorsdatter Eidnes (1822–1911). He attended Trondheim Technical Vocational School ( no, Trondhjems Tekniske Læreanstalt) from 1877 to 1880, after which he worked for a few years as a junior architect. Haldor Johan Hanson (June 24, 1856 – December 14, 1929) was an American hymn writer, publisher and author. Background Haldor Johan Hanson was born in Fusa in the county of Hordaland near Bergen, Norway to Hans Lammenaes and Herborg (Lønningdahl). He emigrated with his family in 1865, at the age of nine, to Grand Mound, Iowa, where his parents farmed. Hanson enrolled at Luther College graduating in 1883. Hanson studied at the Music Conservatory of Chicago from 1883-1884. Career Hanson taught at Willmar Seminary (academy) in Willmar, Minnesota, 1885-1887, before returning to Luther College to teach music and mathematics from 1888-1890. Hanson served as principal of Decorah School of Music in 1889 which was incorporated into the Luther College the following year. Haldor Erickson Boen (January 1, 1851 – July 20, 1912) was an American congressman from Minnesota. Biography Boen was born in Sør-Aurdal, Valdres, a traditional district in Oppland county, Norway. He immigrated to the United States in 1868 and settled in Mower County, Minnesota. He attended the St. Cloud Normal School in 1869 and 1870. Boen relocated to Fergus Falls in Otter Tail County in 1871. In 1872, he was employed in the county auditor's office, computing the first taxes levied in Otter Tail County. He taught in public schools of that county from 1874 to 1879. Boen acted as justice of the peace from 1875 to 1900. In 1880, he was elected county commissioner and was a register of deeds from 1888 to 1892. In November 1892, Boen was elected as a Populist to the 53rd congress, representing the newly created 7th congressional district from March 4, 1893, to March 3, 1895. Haldor Andreas Haldorsen (21 February 1883 – 23 April 1965) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party of Norway, Liberal Party. He was born in FinnÃ¥s. He was elected to the Stortinget, Norwegian Parliament from Hordaland in 1945, and was re-elected on one occasion. He had previously served in the position of deputy representative during the terms 1928–1930, 1931–1933 and 1934–1936. Haldor Halderson
Haldor Halderson (Halldór Halldórsson; January 7, 1898 – August 1, 1965) was an Icelandic-Canadian ice hockey player who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. Halderson was the right wing for the Winnipeg Falcons, the Canadian team which won the Olympic gold medal in 1920. Slim then joined the Victoria Aristocrats/Victoria Cougars and helped them win the Stanley Cup in 1925. On both occasions he was a teammate of fellow Icelandic-Canadian ice hockey star Frank Fredrickson, making them the first players to win an Olympic gold medal and a Stanley Cup.
