Halang, Ukhrul
Halang also misnomerly called ''Huining in Meteilon(Manipuris),'' is a village located north-west of Ukhrul in Ukhrul district, Manipur state, India. Halang is approximately 10 kilometers from Ukhrul. The village is flanked by Phungcham in the north, Lunghar in the east, Talui in the west and Kasomwo in the south. Locally inhabitants speak Halang dialect which belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family. The village is divided into four parts; Alungtang, Awungtang, Masorimtang & Phungreitang. Halang Ato /Faling lives/settled separately as per the customary practice and their right, however with certain power and influence from Halang Headman at present. Total population According to 2011 census, Halang has 688 households with the total of 2,878 people of which 1,431 are male and 1,447 are female. Lok Sabha
The Lok Sabha, constitutionally the House of the People, is the lower house of India's bicameral Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Talui
Talui is the second biggest township in Ukhrul district, Manipur state, India. According to 2011 census, Talui has 820 households with the total population of 4296 of which 2232 were male and 2064 female. It is a beautiful township situated at an altitude 3500 ft. above the sea level. It is surrounded by four mountain ranges. On the north is the Torei Kaphung, on the east is the Nilai Kaphung, on the west is the Malew Kaphung and on the south is the Ngainga Kaphung. Neighboring villages of Tolui are Ngainga, Halang, Phungcham Hoomi and Somdal. The township was also called as 'Tolloi' a misnomer name for 'Talui' coined by outsiders. Lunghar
Lunghar village is located north of Ukhrul in Ukhrul district, Manipur state, India. Lunghar villagers call Lunghar as Lunghir, Lunghar village is very fertile and rich in vegetation and fruits. Phungcham is a village located north of Ukhrul in Ukhrul district, Manipur state, India. The village is approximately 28 kilometers from Ukhrul and is connected by inter village road constructed under PMGSY. Phungcham is flanked by Longpi and Lunghar in the east, Peh in the north, Ukhrul and Halang in the south and Talui in the west. Population As per 2011 census, the village has a total of 762 houses with 4041 persons of which 2022 are male while 2019 are female. Of the total population, 753 are in the age group of 0–6 years. Tangkhul Naga Language
Tangkhul (Tangkhul Naga) is a Sino-Tibetan language of the Tangkhulic branch. It is spoken in 168 villages of Ukhrul district, Manipur, India, with speakers scattered in Nagaland and Tripura as well. Within Ukhrul district, Manipur, Tangkhul is spoken in the villages of Hundung, Shiroi, Langdang, Lamlang Gate, Litan, Yangangpokpi, and other locations (Arokianathan 1995). Tangkhul is not close to other Naga languages. Ukhrul/Hunphun ( Meitei pronunciation:/ˈuːkˌɹəl or ˈuːkˌɹʊl/) is a town in the state of Manipur, India. Ukhrul is the home of the Tangkhul Nagas.
