Hal Rice
Harold Housten Rice (February 11, 1924 – December 22, 1997), nicknamed "Hoot", was a professional baseball left fielder in Major League Baseball from 1948 to 1954. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs. Most of his career was spent with the Cardinals, where he backed up Stan Musial in left field. Harley Grossman
Harley Joseph Grossman (May 5, 1930 – September 5, 2003) was an American professional baseball player whose career lasted for five seasons (1949–1953) and who appeared in one Major League game as a relief pitcher for the Washington Senators. A native of Evansville, Indiana, Grossman attended Ball State University; he stood tall and weighed . On Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 1952, at Fenway Park, the 21-year-old rookie was called into service to relieve starting pitcher Joe Haynes in the sixth inning. Pete Castiglione
Peter Paul Castiglione (February 13, 1921 – April 22, 2010) was an infielder in Major League Baseball player for eight seasons from 1947 to 1954. Born on February 13, 1921, he initially signed a baseball contract to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates out of High School, and then played three seasons in the minor leagues from 1940 to 1942, before joining the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he returned to the Pirates' organization in 1946, joining the major league club during the 1947 season. He played for the Pirates until June 14, 1953, when he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Hal Rice. Castiglione played the rest of 1953 season and the 1954 season in the Cardinals' organization. He played an additional five seasons in the minor leagues before retiring from baseball. The Asheville Tourists are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. They are located in Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville teams have played under the Tourists moniker in different leagues and classifications for over a century, with the earliest dating to 1897.
