Haim Haberfeld
Haim Haberfeld (6 September 1931 – 29 January 2002) was an Israeli trade union leader and the chairman of the Israel Football Association. Early life and education Chaim Haberfeld was born in Brno in Czechoslovakia. His family immigrated to Israel in the Fifth Aliyah. He arrived in Rishon Le Zion at the age of two. Haberfeld studied at the Ben Shemen Youth Village and served in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War in the Artillery Corps. Union leader After his discharge, Haberfeld became a civilian IDF employee in Tzrifin. Here he met his future wife, Sima Eisen, and began his activities as a labor union activist in the IDF Worker Union, affiliated with the Histadrut. He advanced in the Histadrut hierarchy and eventually led the Histadrut Trade Union Division. In 1992, when Yisrael Kessar was appointed Minister of Transportation, he replaced him as the Histadrut Secretary General, winning internal elections in the Israeli Labor Party against Amir Peretz. Kupat Holim Clalit
Clalit, ( he, שירותי בריאות כללית, General Health Services; previously – , General Sick Fund), is the largest of Israel's four state-mandated health service organizations, charged with administering health care services and funding for its members. (All Israeli citizens resident in the country must be a member of one of the four providers.) Widely known as Kupat Holim Clalit, it was established in 1911 as a mutual aid society. When the State of Israel was founded in 1948, Clalit was instrumental in providing medical care for the massive influx of new immigrants. Haim Ramon ( he, חיים רמון, born 10 April 1950) is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset between 1983 and 2009, and as both Vice Prime Minister and Minister in the Prime Minister's Office with responsibility for state policy. Biography Born in Jaffa in 1950, Ramon served in the Israeli Air Force, rising to the rank of captain, before studying law at Tel Aviv University, earning a BA. He joined the Labor Party (then part of the Alignment alliance) as soon as he left the military, and was secretary of its youth wing from 1978 until 1989. He entered the Knesset in May 1983, replacing Daniel Rosolio, and, except for a period between January 2006 and the March 2006 elections, remained a member until 2009.
