Marvin Hagler
Marvelous Marvin Hagler (born Marvin Nathaniel Hagler; May 23, 1954 – March 13, 2021) was an American professional boxer and film actor. He competed in boxing from 1973 to 1987 and reigned as the undisputed champion of the middleweight division from 1980 to 1987, making twelve successful title defenses, all but one by knockout. Hagler also holds the highest knockout percentage of all undisputed middleweight champions at 78 percent. His undisputed middleweight championship reign of six years and seven months is the second-longest active reign of the last century. He holds the record for the sixth longest reign as champion in middleweight history. Nicknamed "Marvelous" and annoyed that network announcers often did not refer to him as such, Hagler legally changed his name to "Marvelous Marvin Hagler" in 1982. King Hagler (also spelled Haiglar) or Nopkehee (c. 1700–1763) was a chief of the Catawba Native American tribe from 1754 to 1763. Hagler is known as the "Patron Saint of Camden, South Carolina." He was the first Native American to be inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame. Tyjuan Cedric Hagler (born December 3, 1981) is a former American football linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Colts in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft and later won Super Bowl XLI with the team over the Chicago Bears. He played college football at Cincinnati. Hagler has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Early years Hagler attended Bishop McNamara High School in Kankakee. Ellis Pruitt "Dumpy" Hagler (May 2, 1908 – September 21, 1990) was an American college football player and coach. He also coached golf. He played and coached football under Wallace Wade. Hagler was president of the NCAA Golf Coaches Association, chairman of the Southern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference Golf Committees, and a member of the NCAA All-America selection committee. University of Alabama Hagler was a prominent guard for Wallace Wade's Alabama Crimson Tide football teams of the University of Alabama. He was selected All-Southern in 1928. Starcastle
Starcastle is an American progressive rock band from Champaign, Illinois, United States. Formed in 1969, the group played many shows under the names Pegasus and Mad John Fever before eventually settling on Starcastle. They inked their first record deal with Epic Records in 1974, and received extensive airplay and frequently played in the St. Louis area. The original lineup included former REO Speedwagon vocalist Terry Luttrell and computing author/programmer Herb Schildt, while the mid-1980s lineup would briefly include guitarist Mark McGee, who went on to join Vicious Rumors. Hagler-Cole Cabin
The Hagler-Cole Cabin is a historic summer cabin on Mt. Pisgah Loop in Bella Vista, Arkansas. It is a two-story wood-frame structure with a wide overhanging front gable roof, which presents a single story to the front because of a steeply sloping lot. The front has a fieldstone chimney near the center, with a corner entry to the right, and a projecting gable-roofed screen porch to the left. Built c. 1920, it is one of a few relatively unaltered cabins (of some 500 originally built) in the Bella Vista area. The cabin was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Lyle Hagler Boren (May 11, 1909 – July 2, 1992) was a U.S. Democratic Party politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives from Oklahoma, serving from 1937 to 1947 and was defeated for renomination in the 1946 election. He was known for his independence in the party, opposing labor union strikes on defense plants and attempts to expand the federal government. Birtha (band)
Birtha was an American all-female rock band of the early 1970s. Formed in Los Angeles, the band consisted of Shele Pinizzotto (guitar), Rosemary Butler (bass), Sherry Hagler (keyboards), and Olivia "Liver" Favela (drums). Each of the band members contributed lead vocals and harmonies. Biography Pinizzotto, Butler, and Hagler grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County and played together in bands during their high school years. Both Pinizzotto and Butler were in the Fullerton girl band named The Ladybirds. Afterwards, they formed the group Birtha. They were joined by Favela in 1968, at which time the group began playing clubs along the West Coast from California to Alaska. Over the next three years, Birtha worked on improving their craft and by 1971 they started to write their own material.
