James Lee Hagedorn ( ; August 4, 1962 – February 17, 2022) was an American politician from Minnesota. A Republican, he was the U.S. Representative for from 2019 until his death. The district stretches across southern Minnesota along the border with Iowa and includes Rochester, Austin, and Mankato. Early life and education Hagedorn was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota, in 1962, the son of former U.S. Representative Tom Hagedorn and Kathleen Hagedorn (née Mittlestadt). Gregor Hagedorn (born 1965) is a German botanist and academic director at the Natural History Museum, Berlin. Life Gregor Hagedorn studied biology at the University of Tübingen and at Duke University (North Carolina). Afterwards, he worked in the Department of Mycology at the University of Bayreuth until 2007. Brian Keith Hagedorn (born January 21, 1978) is an American lawyer and a justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, serving since 2019. Rolf Hagedorn
Rolf Hagedorn (20 July 1919 – 9 March 2003) was a German theoretical physicist who worked at CERN. He is known for the idea that hadronic matter has a "melting point". The Hagedorn temperature is named in his honor. Early life Hagedorn's younger life was deeply marked by the upheavals of World War II in Europe. He graduated from high school in 1937 and was drafted into the German Army. After the war began, he was shipped off into North Africa as an officer in the Rommel Afrika Korps. He was captured in 1943, and spent the rest of the war in an officer prison camp in the United States. Edward Hagedorn (artist)
Edward Hagedorn (1902–1982) was an American artist, living most of his life in California. He painted and made prints, and was influenced by German Expressionism as well as Surrealism. Biography Hagedorn was born on January 26, 1902, in Oakland, California, the son of Henry and Edna (née Kafka) Hagedorn. His mother died in childbirth, and he was raised by his maternal grandmother and by his aunt, Grace Kafka. At the age of 16, he enrolled in the San Francisco Art Association, and from 1923 to 1926 attended the California School of Fine Arts. Around 1930 he may have moved to New York for a brief period. He participated in numerous exhibitions from the late 1920s through the 1930s, and won honors from the Pennsylvania Academy and the Brooklyn Museum. She was born in Manila to a Scots-Irish-French-Filipino mother and a Spanish Filipino father with one Chinese ancestor. Moving to San Francisco in 1963, Hagedorn received her education at the American Conservatory Theater training program. To further pursue playwriting and music, she moved to New York City in 1978. Katherine Johanna Hagedorn (October 16, 1961November 12, 2013) was an American ethnomusicologist. Born in Summit, New Jersey to a white family, she became a traditional Cuban drummer and Santería priestess. She spent her career as a Professor of Music at Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she directed the Ethnomusicology Program, served as co-coordinator of the Gender & Women’s Studies Program, and became an associate dean. Karl Hagedorn (11 September 1889 – 1969), who signed himself Hagedorn, was a painter and illustrator. He was born in Berlin in 1889 but settled in Manchester, England, in 1905. Biography Hagedorn was educated in Berlin, and at Manchester School of Technology, Manchester School of Art, the Slade School of Fine Art, and in Paris, under Maurice Denis. Hagedorn became a leading figure in the Manchester art scene showing regularly at the Society of Modern Painters in the city, and also, from 1913 onwards, at the Royal Academy and the New English Art Club. Hans Erwin Hagedorn (30 January 1952 – 15 September 1972) was an East German serial killer who murdered three young boys from 1969 until 1971. Murders On 31 May 1969 Hagedorn killed two nine-year-old boys, Henry Specht and Mario Louis, in a forest in Eberswalde with a knife. The bodies were found two weeks later. Both victims died from deep cuts to the neck, one cut so severe that one of the children found two weeks later had his head severed as a result of the rotting of the corpse. Extensive investigations were commenced, with a psychological offender profile being assembled and the Ministry for State Security obtaining documents about the case of West German child murderer Jürgen Bartsch. Friedrich von Hagedorn (23 April 1708 – 28 October 1754), Germany, German poet, was born at Hamburg, where his father, a man of scientific and literary taste, was Danish ambassador. His younger brother, Christian Ludwig von Hagedorn, Christian Ludwig, was a well known art historian and collector. Biography Life He was educated at the gymnasium (school), gymnasium of Hamburg, and later (1726) became a student of law at University of Jena, Jena. Returning to Hamburg in 1729, he obtained the appointment of unpaid private secretary to the Danish ambassador in London, where he lived till 1731.
