Hathersage railway station serves the village of Hathersage in the Derbyshire Peak District, in England. History The station was opened on 25 June 1894 when the Midland Railway opened the line between and (now the Hope Valley Line) for passengers, the line had opened for freight on 6 November 1893. The original buildings were of timber and have disappeared, with the platforms being rebuilt in masonry. The villagers' initial reaction to proposals to build the railway may have been unenthusiastic. They had already had an unfavourable experience of the 'iron horse' in the form of a traction engine in 1882, which, drawing two heavy carts, had made the roads almost impassable, killing a boy and overturning a mail cart. In addition, a private carriage collided with it, killing one of the occupants. The station had two platforms either side of a double track connected by an underpass, there was a signal box and sidings to both sides of the running lines to the east of the station. T ... High Sierra Group
ISO 9660 (also known as ECMA-119) is a file system for optical disc media. Being sold by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) the file system is considered an international technical standard. Since the specification is available for anybody to purchase, implementations have been written for many operating systems. ISO 9660 traces its roots to the ''High Sierra Format'', which arranged file information in a dense, sequential layout to minimize nonsequential access by using a hierarchical (eight levels of directories deep) tree file system arrangement, similar to UNIX and FAT. To facilitate cross platform compatibility, it defined a minimal set of common file attributes (directory or ordinary file and time of recording) and name attributes (name, extension, and version), and used a separate system use area where future optional extensions for each file may be specified. High Sierra was adopted in December 1986 (with changes) as an international standard by Ec ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

High-speed Grinding
High-speed grinding (HSG) is a Rail tracks, rail care concept developed by the company Stahlberg Roensch from Seevetal, Germany. It is based on the principle of rotational Grinding (abrasive cutting), grinding and serves to grind rails at up to . Background Since roughly the beginning of the 1990s, rail network operators have experienced increasing problems with rail surface defects. Head checks, squats, corrugation and slip waves all contribute to higher maintenance costs, intensified noise pollution, traffic obstructions, and ultimately a shortened rail lifespan. These increasingly common flaws are exacerbated by the growing density and speed of both freight and passenger traffic. The direct consequence of these problems is a growing need for rail maintenance. The primary challenge for modern rail maintenance is that less time is available to perform it due to higher traffic densities. Conventional rail maintenance machines (e.g. rail milling, planing or grinding) working a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Hysterosalpingography
Hysterosalpingography (HSG), also known as uterosalpingography, is a radiologic procedure to investigate the shape of the uterine cavity and the shape and patency of the Fallopian tubes. It is a special x-ray using dye to look at the womb (uterus) and Fallopian tubes. It injects a radio-opaque material into the cervical canal, and usually fluoroscopy with image intensification. A normal result shows the filling of the uterine cavity and the bilateral filling of the Fallopian tube with the injection material. To demonstrate tubal rupture, spillage of the material into the peritoneal cavity needs to be observed. Hysterosalpingography has vital role in treatment of infertility, especially in the case of fallopian tube blockage. Uses HSG is considered a diagnostic procedure. It is used in the workup of infertile females to assess the patency of fallopian tubes, assess the competency of the cervix or congenital abnormality of the uterus in multiple miscarriages, assess the patency o ...
