HMS Cromer (M103)
HMS ''Cromer'' is a ''Sandown''-class minehunter commissioned by the Royal Navy in 1992. She was named after the North Norfolk seaside town of the same name. HMS ''Cromer'' visited Dundee on 6–9 November 1998 (for a Dundee navy day and Armistice Day commemorations) when she was accompanied by various warships from European countries including: Norwegian minelayer/command ship KNM ''Vidar'', Norwegian minesweeper KNM ''Måløy'', Dutch minehunter M 860 Hr.Ms. ''Schiedam'', Belgian minehunter ''Crocus'', Type 23 frigate HMS ''Montrose'' and German minesweeper ''Volkingen''. Britannia Royal Naval College
Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), commonly known as Dartmouth, is the naval academy of the United Kingdom and the initial officer training establishment of the Royal Navy. It is located on a hill overlooking the port of Dartmouth, Devon, England. Royal Naval officer training has taken place in Dartmouth since 1863. The buildings of the current campus were completed in 1905. Earlier students lived in two wooden hulks moored in the River Dart. Since 1998, BRNC has been the sole centre for Royal Naval officer training. HMS Montrose (F236)
The current HMS ''Montrose'' is the eighth of the sixteen-ship Type 23 or Duke class of frigates, of the Royal Navy, named after the Duke of Montrose. She was laid down in November 1989 by Yarrow Shipbuilders on the Clyde, and was launched on 31 July 1992 by Edith Rifkind (later Lady Rifkind), wife of (later Sir) Malcolm Rifkind, Secretary of State for Defence. She was commissioned into service in June 1994. Having once been the flagship of the 6th Frigate Squadron, ''Montrose'' became part of the Devonport Flotilla, based in Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. In 2018, it was announced that ''Montrose'' would become the first Royal Navy frigate to be forward-deployed to the UK Naval Support Facility in Bahrain. Type 23 Frigate
The Type 23 frigate or Duke class is a class of frigates built for the United Kingdom's Royal Navy. The ships are named after British Dukes, thus leading to the class being commonly known as the Duke class. The first Type 23, , was commissioned in 1989, and the sixteenth, was commissioned in June 2002. They form the core of the Royal Navy's destroyer and frigate fleet and serve alongside the Type 45 destroyers. They were designed for anti-submarine warfare, but have been used for a range of uses. Twelve Type 23 frigates remain in service with the Royal Navy, with three vessels having been sold to the Chilean Navy, and one being retired in 2021. HNoMS ''Vidar'' (N52) was a Royal Norwegian Navy minelayer and command vessel. ''Vidar'' was built by Mjellem & Karlsen in Bergen in 1977, and named after Odin's son Vidar from Norse mythology.
