HKIFF
The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF), is one of Asia’s oldest international film festivals. Founded in 1976, the festival features different movies, filmmakers from different countries in Hong Kong. HKIFF screens around 230 films from more than 60 countries in different major cultural venues across the territory every year. New films are featured as gala premieres, with the directors and cast presenting on the red carpet and meet-and-greet sessions in theatres. The 46th edition of the festival was held from 15 August to 31 August 2022. The lineup included 204 films from 67 countries including 38 world, international or Asia premieres. '' Where the Wind Blows'' by Philip Yung and '' Warriors of Future'' by Ng Yuen-fai were opening films and ''Tori and Lokita'' by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne was the closing film of the festival. Where The Wind Blows
''Where the Wind Blows'' (Chinese: 風再起時), previously known as ''Theory of Ambitions'', is a 2022 Hong Kong crime thriller film written and directed by Philip Yung and starring Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung Chiu-wai respectively as Lui Lok and Lam Kong two notorious corrupt Hong Kong police officers during the 1960s. Originally set for release at the end of 2018, the film's release was delayed due to trouble getting approved by the National Radio and Television Administration. The film was scheduled to make its world premiere and open the 45th Hong Kong International Film Festival on 1 April 2021, but was pulled from the lineup three days before. The film made its world premiere the following year and opened the 46th Hong Kong International Film Festival on 15 August 2022 instead. The film has yet to receive a wide release in theaters. ''Warriors of Future'' (), previously known as ''Virtus'' (), is a 2022 Hong Kong science fiction action film directed by visual effects artist Ng Yuen-fai in his directorial debut and starring Louis Koo, Sean Lau, and Carina Lau. Tsai Ming-liang (; born 27 October 1957) is a Malaysian-Taiwanese filmmaker. Tsai has written and directed 11 feature films, many short films, and television films. He is one of the most celebrated "Second New Wave" film directors of Taiwanese cinema. His films have been acclaimed worldwide and have won numerous awards at festivals. Louis Koo Tin-lok ( zh, t=古天樂; born 21 October 1970) is a Hong Kong actor, singer and film producer. He began his professional career as an actor in local television series, winning TVB's Best Actor award in 1999 and 2001. Kiyoshi Kurosawa
is a Japanese film director, screenwriter, film critic and a professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia (; born 3 November 1954) is a Taiwanese actress.
