HKFA League Cup
Hong Kong Football Association League Cup () is an annual football competition contested by clubs in the top-tier Hong Kong domestic football league (currently Hong Kong Premier League). The cup was relaunched for the 2014–15 season after being discontinued in the 2012–13 season. Format *All teams in Hong Kong First Division League (until 2013–2014 season) / Hong Kong Premier League (starting from 2014 to 2015 season) are divided in the 2 groups (Group A & B) in first round stage. Each team plays against all other teams in the group once. The top two teams in each group qualify into the semi-finals. *In the semi-finals, the first team in Group A plays against second team in Group B while the first team in Group B plays against second team in Group A. *The winner of the semi-finals enter the final, which is usually held in Hong Kong Stadium. The Hong Kong Football Association
The Hong Kong Football Association Limited (), often abbreviated to the HKFA, is the governing body of association football in Hong Kong. Its current chairman is Pui Kwan Kay and its Chief Executive Officer is Joaquin Tam. History The HKFA was established in 1914. It is one of the oldest Football Federations in Asia and is responsible for organising various football competitions including professional and amateur leagues, football development and promoting football in Hong Kong. In 1954, HKFA joined FIFA, and was also one of twelve founding associations of the Asian Football Confederation. Hong Kong played an important role in the early development of Asian football, and was given the honour of hosting the first Asian Cup competition in 1956, in which Hong Kong came third in the tournament. Sun Hei SC
Sun Hei Sports Club () is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. The club has a long history in playing in the top flight, but decided to self-relegate in the 2013–14 season after declining to participate in the newly established Hong Kong Premier League. History Sun Hei entered the Hong Kong First Division under the name Golden () in the 1994–95 season. In 1996, Golden under the name Golden XI played against England. England was in Hong Kong preparing for the UEFA Euro 1996 later in the summer. It was in Hong Kong that Paul Gascoigne's famous dentist chair incident took place. The 2011–12 Hong Kong League Cup is the 11th edition of the Hong Kong League Cup. It is a knockout competition for all the teams of the 2011–12 Hong Kong First Division League. Originally it would begin in October 2011, and will end in April 2012. However, due to lack of sponsorship, it was postponed to start in January 2012 after Halewinner Limited were announced as sponsors. Yuen Long Stadium
Yuen Long Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Yuen Long, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is the current home ground of Hong Kong Premier League club Pegasus and the former home ground of Yuen Long. History Originally a piece of vacant land next to Shui Bin Village, the stadium was built by the Yuen Long District Sports Association with local support. It was constructed by Yuen Long Cheong Kee Construction for HK$198,000 in 1965. The stadium opened on 15 December 1969 with a First Division match between Yuen Long and Fire Services. On the same day, it hosted the start and the finish of the first marathon in Hong Kong held by Hong Kong Association of Athletics Affiliates, sponsored by Tin Tin Daily. In 1983, the stadium received a HK$3 million endowment from Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club for expansion. TSW Pegasus FC
Hong Kong Pegasus FC () are a Hong Kong football club based in Yuen Long. Founded in 2008, the club currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History TSW Pegasus was established in June 2008, and they had their first season in 2008–09 Hong Kong First Division League with a budget of about HKD$10,000,000. On 21 December 2008, Pegasus won their first trophy, defeating Sun Hei in the 2008 Senior Shield Final. In July 2012, the club was renamed as Sun Pegasus following introduction of a new sponsor. After the 2014–15 season, Sun International Resources Limited withdrew their sponsorship. Their club was renamed Hong Kong Pegasus following a takeover by Canny Leung. In October 2020, the club was renamed back to TSW Pegasus and returned to Yuen Long Stadium.
