Hamfest India

It usually has technical sessions, presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, sales of radio equipment and a flea market. The event also propose to create more awareness on Ham Radio. ‘Hamfest India' is precisely the largest gathering of Indian HAMs in one place. How it all began The idea of a generally accepted yearly convention was conceived in the South and both the earliest of its kind were organised in Kerala. The story unfolds with the formation of 'All Kerala Amateur Radio Clubs' Coordination Committee' which was decided in a meeting of Amateur Radio operators from Kerala. Healthy Forests Initiative
The Healthy Forests Initiative (HFI), officially the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003 (), is a law proposed by President George W. Bush following the forest fires of 2002 which was devastatingly widespread. Its stated intent is to reduce the threat of destructive wildfires. The law seeks to accomplish this by allowing timber harvests on protected National Forest's land. The law streamlined the permitting process for timber harvests in National Forests by adding new categorical exclusions to the National Forest Service's list of categorical exclusions from the environmental impact assessment process. Supporters of the law contend that this will reduce wildfire risk by thinning overstocked stands, clearing away vegetation and trees to create shaded fuel breaks, providing funding and guidance to reduce or eliminate hazardous fuels in National Forests, improving forest fire fighting, and researching new methods to halt destructive insects. To proponents, much of the basis fo ...

Hereditary Fructose Intolerance
Hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) is an inborn error of fructose metabolism caused by a deficiency of the enzyme aldolase B. Individuals affected with HFI are asymptomatic until they ingest fructose, sucrose, or sorbitol. If fructose is ingested, the enzymatic block at aldolase B causes an accumulation of fructose-1-phosphate which, over time, results in the death of liver cells. This accumulation has downstream effects on gluconeogenesis and regeneration of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Symptoms of HFI include vomiting, convulsions, irritability, poor feeding as a baby, hypoglycemia, jaundice, hemorrhage, hepatomegaly, hyperuricemia and potentially kidney failure. While HFI is not clinically a devastating condition, there are reported deaths in infants and children as a result of the metabolic consequences of HFI. Death in HFI is always associated with problems in diagnosis. HFI is an autosomal recessive condition caused by mutations in the ''ALDOB'' gene, located at 9q3 ...

Holy Family Institute
The Holy Family Institute is an Institute of Consecrated Life that is aggregated to the Society of St. Paul, and it is composed exclusively of married and widowed Catholics. Members take private vows (in a public, Church-regulated ceremony) of poverty, conjugal chastity and obedience and make a promise of fidelity to the Pope. The vows of members of the Holy Family Institute are adapted according to the conditions of the married state and the normal requirements of family life. The Institute was begun in 1960 and received general approval from the Holy See in 1993. The charism specific to Holy Family Institute members is lifelong spiritual growth through living the example of the "Holy Family of Nazareth: Model, Light, and Source of Grace". The Holy Family Institute is a part of the Pauline Family, being one of 10 Institutes begun by Blessed James Alberione James Alberione, SSP ( it, Giacomo) (4 April 1884 – 26 November 1971), was an Italian Catholic priest, and the founder ...

Horizontal Fiscal Imbalance
Fiscal imbalance is a mismatch in the revenue powers and expenditure responsibilities of a government. In the literature on fiscal federalism, two types of fiscal imbalances are measured: Vertical Fiscal Imbalance and Horizontal Fiscal Imbalance. When the fiscal imbalance is measured between the two levels of government (Center and States or Provinces) it is called Vertical Fiscal Imbalance. When the fiscal imbalance is measured between the governments at the same level it is called Horizontal Fiscal imbalance. This imbalance is also known as regional disparity. While Horizontal Fiscal Imbalance requires equalization transfers, Vertical Fiscal Imbalance is a structural issue and thus needs to be corrected by reassignment of revenue and expenditure responsibilities between the two senior order of the governments. Horizontal Fiscal Imbalances as Differences in Net Fiscal Benefits A horizontal fiscal imbalance (HFI) emerges when sub-national governments have different abilities to r ...

Human Factors Integration
Human Factors Integration (HFI) is the process adopted by a number of key industries (notably defence and hazardous industries like oil & gas) in Europe to integrate human factors and ergonomics into the systems engineering process. Although each industry has a slightly different domain, the underlying approach is the same. Overview In essence HFI tries to reconcile the top down nature of system engineering with the iterative nature of a user centred design approach (e.g. ISO 6385 or ISO 9241-210ISO 9241-210:2010 (Ergonomics of human-system interaction -- Part 210: Human-centred design for interactive systems) superseded ISO 13407:1999 (Human-centred design processes for interactive systems), which has been withdrawn.). It often does this by creating a Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP) that sits alongside the system development plan. The purpose of the HFIP is to define how the Human Factors Engineering activities necessary for the successful delivery of a particular system wi ...
