HD Moore
H. D. Moore is a network security expert, open source programmer, and hacker. He is a developer of the Metasploit Framework, a penetration testing software suite, and the founder of the Metasploit Project. He served as chief research officer at Boston, Massachusetts-based security firm Rapid7, a provider of security data and analytics software and cloud solutions. He remained the chief architect of the Metasploit Framework until his departure from Rapid7 in 2016. Since leaving Rapid7, Moore has joined Atredis Partners as the vice president of research and development and founded Rumble, Inc., the software firm that develops Rumble Network Discovery. The Metasploit Project is a computer security project that provides information about security vulnerabilities and aids in penetration testing and IDS signature development. It is owned by Boston, Massachusetts-based security company Rapid7. In programming and software development, fuzzing or fuzz testing is an automated software testing technique that involves providing invalid, unexpected, or random data as inputs to a computer program. The program is then monitored for exceptions such as crashes, failing built-in code assertions, or potential memory leaks. Typically, fuzzers are used to test programs that take structured inputs.
