HD 23079 B
HD 23079 b is an exoplanet approximately 109 light years away in the constellation Reticulum. The planet has mass of at least 2.45 Jupiters, although only the minimum mass is known since inclination is unknown. The planet takes almost exactly two years to orbit the star at the average distance of 1.6 AU. The planet's orbital eccentricity is about the same as 109 Piscium b, HD 75898 b, and HD 69830 b at 0.102. The distance range from as close as 1.44 AU to as far away as 1.76 AU from the parent star. The planet was discovered in 2001 by Tinney et al., who used doppler spectrometer to look for shifts of star's spectrum caused by a gravity of the planet tug the star around as the planet orbits. HD 69830 B
HD 69830 b is a Neptune-mass or super-Earth-mass exoplanet orbiting the star HD 69830. It is at least 10 times more massive than Earth. It also orbits very close to its parent star and takes 82/3 days to complete an orbit. Based on theoretical modeling in the 2006 discovery paper, this is likely to be a rocky planet, not a gas giant. However, other work has found that if it had formed as a gas giant, it would have stayed that way, and it is now understood that planets this massive are rarely rocky. The giant planets constitute a diverse type of planet much larger than Earth. They are usually primarily composed of low-boiling-point materials (volatiles), rather than rock or other solid matter, but massive solid planets can also exist. There are four known giant planets in the Solar System: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Many extrasolar giant planets have been identified orbiting other stars. HD 63765 is an 8th-magnitude G-type main sequence star located approximately 106 light years away in the constellation Carina. This star is smaller, cooler, dimmer, and less massive than the Sun, and has a lower iron content with approximately 69% of the Sun's iron-to-hydrogen ratio. In 2009, a gas giant planet was found in orbit around the star. The star HD 63765 is named Tapecue. The name was selected by Bolivia during the 100th anniversary of the IAU as part of the IAU's NameExoWorlds project. NameExoWorlds
NameExoWorlds (also known as IAU NameExoWorlds) is the name of various projects managed by the International Astronomical Union (I.A.U.) to encourage names to be submitted for astronomical objects, which would later be considered for official adoption by the organization. History The first such project (NameExoWorlds I), in 2015, regarded the naming of stars and exoplanets. 573,242 votes were submitted by members by the time the contest closed on October 31, 2015, and the names of 31 exoplanets and 14 stars were selected from these. Many of the names chosen were based on world history, mythology and literature.
