HD 108147, also known as Tupã, is a 7th magnitude star in the constellation of Crux in direct line with and very near to the bright star Acrux or Alpha Crucis. It is either a yellow-white or yellow dwarf (the line is arbitrary and the colour difference is only from classification, not real), slightly brighter and more massive than the Sun. The spectral type is F8 V or G0 V. The star is also younger than the Sun. Due to its distance, about 126 light years, it is too dim to be visible with unaided eye; with binoculars it is an easy target. However, due to its southerly location it is not visible in the northern hemisphere except for the tropics. An extrasolar planet was detected orbiting it in 2000 by the Geneva Extrasolar Planet Search Team. This exoplanet is "a gas giant smaller than Jupiter that screams around its primary tar in 11 days at only 0.1 AU." An F-type main-sequence star (F V) is a main-sequence, hydrogen-fusing star of spectral type F and luminosity class V. These stars have from 1.0 to 1.4 times the mass of the Sun and surface temperatures between 6,000 and 7,600  K.Tables VII and VIII. HD 107148 is a wide binary star system in the constellation of Virgo. A pair of exoplanets have been confirmed in orbit around the brighter star. This system is located at a distance of 161 light years from the Sun based on parallax measurements, and is drifting further away with a radial velocity of 25.2 K. Although having an absolute magnitude of 4.47, at that range the system is too faint to be visible with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 8.01. The brighter primary member, designated component A, has a spectrum that presents as a G-type main-sequence star, a yellow dwarf, with a stellar classification of G5V. NameExoWorlds (also known as IAU NameExoWorlds) is the name of various projects managed by the International Astronomical Union (I.A.U.) to encourage names to be submitted for astronomical objects, which would later be considered for official adoption by the organization. Tupã or Tupan (also ''Tupave'' or ''Tenondete'') is the word for God in the Tupi language, Tupi and Guarani languages, including the Guarani creation myth.
