Gösta Wetterhall
Gösta Carl Fredrik Wetterhall (1August 1904 – 22June 1983) was a Swedish Army officer. During World War II, he served in Finland during the Winter War. Back in Sweden as commanding officer of the Army Ranger School in Kiruna, he was responsible for the Swedish military's relationship with the Norwegian resistance and made major contributions to them through active support to the Norwegian bases on the Swedish side in what was called Operation Sepals. After the war, Wetterhall eventually became commanding officer of Falun Defense District and worked as a ski competition administrator. Early life Wetterhall was born on 1 August 1904 in Skillingaryd, Sweden, the son of lieutenant colonel Carl Fredrik Wetterhall and his wife Emy Karin (née Wallin). Skillingaryd is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality in Vaggeryd Municipality, Jönköping County, Sweden, with over 13,200 inhabitants in 2013. Together with Vaggeryd, the seat of Vaggeryd Municipality. FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1954
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1954 took place 13-21 February 1954 in Falun, Sweden. These were the first races where women competed with events in the 10 km and 3 × 5 km relay. It also saw the 18 km reduced to 15 km in men's cross-country along with the return of the 30 km which was last held in 1926. The Nordic combined saw the ski jump held first with the cross-country distance reduced to 15 km as well. The Soviet Union also debuted in these championships as well. The Royal Swedish Army Staff College ( sv, Kungliga Krigshögskolan, KHS) was a Swedish Army training establishment between 1866 and 1961, providing courses for army officers.
