Gérard Jugnot
Gérard Jugnot (; born 4 May 1951) is a French actor, film director, screenwriter and film producer. Jugnot was one of the founders of the comedy ''troupe'' Le Splendid in the 1970s, along with, among others, his high-school friends Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, and Michel Blanc. Then Josiane Balasko and Marie-Anne Chazel joined them. The group adapted a number of its stage hits for the cinema and was extremely successful in films such as ''Les Bronzés'' (1978), '' Les Bronzés font du ski'' (1979) and '' Le Père Noël est une ordure'' (1982). Jugnot gained international fame for his lead role in '' Les Choristes'' in which he played Clément Mathieu. The last movie he directed was '' C'est beau la vie quand on y pense'' (2017). 2014 Cannes Film Festival
The 67th Cannes Film Festival was held from 14 to 25 May 2014. New Zealand film director Jane Campion was the head of the jury for the main competition section. The Palme d'Or was awarded to the Turkish film '' Winter Sleep'' directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. The festival opened with the long delayed '' Grace of Monaco'', directed by Olivier Dahan and starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, which played out of competition. The restored 4K version of Sergio Leone's 1964 western ''A Fistful of Dollars'', served as the closing night film. Due to European Parliament elections which took place on 25 May 2014, the winner of the Palme d'Or was announced on 24 May, and the winning film in the Un Certain Regard section announced on 23 May. ''Going Places'' is a 1974 French comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Bertrand Blier, and based on his own novel. Its original title is ''Les Valseuses'', which translates into English as "the waltzers" , a vulgar French slang term for "the testicles". It stars Miou-Miou, Gérard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere. It is one of the most controversial films in French cinema due to its vulgarity, depiction of sexual acts, nudity and amorality. However, Blier's later acclaim for the rest of his filmography made it a cult film for modern critics. Jean Dutourd
Jean Gwenaël Dutourd (; 14 January 192017 January 2011) was a French novelist. Biography Dutourd was born in Paris. His mother died when he was seven years old. At the age of twenty, he was taken prisoner fifteen days after Germany's invasion of France in World War II. He escaped six weeks later and returned to Paris where he studied philosophy at the Sorbonne. He entered the Resistance and was again arrested in early 1944. He escaped and took part in the Liberation of Paris. He was a candidate for the Democratic Union of Labour (UDT) in the legislative elections of 1967. His first work, ''Le Complexe de César'', appeared in 1946 and received the Prix Stendhal. He was elected to the Académie française on 30 November 1978. In 1997 he was elected as a member of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the Department of Language and Literature. Dutourd died in Paris on 17 January 2011, at the age of 91. Jacques Martin (22 June 1933 – 14 September 2007) was a French television host and producer. Life and career Martin was born in Lyon. Olivier de Kersauson de Pennendreff (born 20 July 1944) is a French sailor and sailing champion. Kersauson was the seventh child in a family of eight. While he was the only Kersauson not to have been born in Brittany, he was born on 20 July 1944 and brought up near Morlaix in a “provincial Catholic aristocracy with compulsory mass” as he calls it. Very early on, Olivier de Kersauson was to break away from his family. Without being inattentive, he was a pupil who did not settle in well to school life with the priests at boarding school. Léon Zitrone
Léon Zitrone (25 November 1914 – 25 November 1995) was a Russian-born French journalist and television presenter. Biography Zitrone was born in Petrograd, Russia. He arrived in France with his family fleeing communism at the age of six. He graduated from the ESJ Paris. He began by training in scientific studies but his mastership of Russian, French, English and German gave him entrance in 1948 to the radio foreign broadcasting services of Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française (RTF). In 1959, he joined the television activity of RTF. From 1961, he became news presenter, function he occupied for nearly 20 years, first until 1975, on the first French television channel (now TF1), then also on Antenne 2, the other public service channel.
