Yuanzhou District, formerly Guyuan, is a district and the seat of the city of Guyuan in the south of Ningxia, China, bordering Gansu province to the northeast. It has a total area of and a population of 510,000 people. History Yuanzhou includes the old town of Guyuan or Guyuanzhou, which administered a prefecture in imperial times and a county before its urbanization. Characteristics Yuanzhou District is the economic, political, and transportation center of Guyuan. Although the district is located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the proportion of Hui residents is actually smaller than the proportion of Han Chinese. 80 percent of the district's residents are farmers. The Hui people ( zh, c=, p=Huízú, w=Hui2-tsu2, Xiao'erjing: , dng, Хуэйзў, ) are an East Asian ethnoreligious group predominantly composed of Chinese-speaking adherents of Islam. Tangshan () is a coastal, industrial prefecture-level city in the northeast of Hebei province. It is located in the eastern part of Hebei Province and the northeastern part of the North China Plain.
