Guy Thompson (golfer)
Guy Edwin Peter Thompson (born 23 January 1987) is an English retired rugby union player. He played flanker or number 8. Between 2013 and 2018 Thompson played 100 times for Wasps and has also previously played for Leicester Tigers in Premiership Rugby, Richmond F.C., in National League 2 South, Ealing Trailfinders & Jersey Reds in the RFU Championship. Career Early life Born in Hereford and raised by a single mother Thompson attended Bishop's School in Hereford before going to Bromsgrove School, alongside future Wasps teammate Matt Mullan. After graduating from University of Wales Institute, Cardiff Thompson joined Gloucester on an academy contract, after one season he left the club without playing a game and spent time traveling. Returning to Hereford Thompson then moved to London for work and joined Richmond F.C. in 2010. Hereford
Hereford () is a cathedral city, civil parish and the county town of Herefordshire, England. The RFU Championship is an English rugby union competition comprising twelve clubs. It is the second level of men’s English rugby and is played by both professional and semi-professional players. The competition has existed since 1987, when English clubs were first organised into leagues. Organisation and format The Championship is governed by the Rugby Football Union (RFU). Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team that play in Premiership Rugby, England's highest division of rugby union. The club was established in 1877 as the Gosforth Football Club. Around 1882 the club merged with the Northumberland Football Club and briefly assumed their name until 1887. National League 1
National One (last season known as National League 1 and previously known before September 2009 as National Division Two), is the third of three national leagues in the domestic rugby union competition of England. It was known as Courage League National Division Three when founded in 1987. Caldy are the current champions. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) approved a new structure for the National Leagues from the 2022–23 season. This division will be reduced to fourteen teams, playing each other on a home and away basis to make a total of 26 matches each. The champions are promoted to the RFU Championship and the bottom three teams are relegated to either National Two East, National Two North or National Two West depending on the geographical location of the team.
