Guy Leclair
Guy Leclair (born May 9, 1968) is a Canadian politician. Leclair was elected on December 8, 2008 to represent the riding of Beauharnois in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2008 provincial election. He is a member of the Parti Québécois. Born in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec, Leclair worked in the Canadian Armed Forces as a marine mechanic in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 1986 to 1989. He obtained a college degree at the Institute Teccart in 1998 and worked as an instrumental and control technician from 1989 to 2008. He has also been owner of two businesses, including one writing promotional articles for musical groups. Leclair was involved in sports being previously a soccer referee from 1984 to 1986, and from 1997 to 2004 a certified hockey coach for minor hockey in Valleyfield. Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Regional County Municipality of Beauharnois-Salaberry. The population as of 2019 was 42,410. Situated on Grande-Île, an island in the Saint Lawrence River, it is bordered at its western end by Lake Saint Francis, with the Saint Lawrence to the north and the Beauharnois Canal to its south. The Port of Valleyfield is on the canal. The historic downtown is a major touristic centre for the area. Due to the presence of Lake St. Francis (St. Lawrence River), St. Francis Bay in downtown, and of numerous rivers and canals all over the town, the city is nicknamed "The Venice of Quebec". 2018 Quebec General Election
The 2018 Quebec general election was held on October 1, 2018, to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The election saw a landslide victory for the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) led by François Legault, which won 74 of 125 seats, giving the party a majority and unseating the Quebec Liberal Party. The Liberals became the Official Opposition with 31 seats. This election was the first won by the CAQ, which had previously been the third party in the legislature. It was also the first since 1966 that had been won by a party other than the Liberals or Parti Québécois. Jean-François Lisée (born February 13, 1958) is a Quebec nationalist politician who served as the leader of the Parti Québécois from October 2016 until October 2018. He was first elected a member of the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2012 Quebec election in the electoral district of Rosemont. Prior to winning political office, he was a political analyst, journalist, author, intellectual and sovereignist thinker. A breathalyzer or breathalyser (a portmanteau of ''breath'' and ''analyzer/analyser'') is a device for estimating blood alcohol content (BAC), or to detect viruses or diseases from a breath sample. The name is a genericized trademark of the Breathalyzer brand name of instruments developed by inventor Robert Frank Borkenstein in the 1950s.
