Guruvayur Kesavan (film)
''Guruvayur Kesavan'' is a 1977 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by Bharathan and produced by M. O. Joseph. The film stars Jayabharathi, Adoor Bhasi, M. G. Soman and Sukumari. It tells the story of Gajarajan Guruvayur Kesavan which belonged to the Guruvayur Temple. Plot In a village, an elephant is brought into the Guruvayur temple as a deity. Bharathan
Bharathan (14 November 1946 – 30 July 1998) was an Indian film maker, artist, and art director. Bharathan is noted for being the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Padmarajan and K. G. George, in the 1980s, which created films that were widely received while also being critically acclaimed. A train of directors, and screenwriters followed this school onto the 1990s including Sibi Malayil, Kamal, Lohithadas and Jayaraj. Arabhi or Aarabhi (pronounced ārabhi) is a ragam (musical scale) in Carnatic music (South Indian classical music). It is a ''Janya'' raga (derived scale), whose ''Melakarta'' raga (parent scale, also known as ''janaka'') is '' Shankarabharanam'', 29th in the 72 ''Melakarta'' raga system. Bharathan is known as a versatile actor and has played a variety of roles including negative roles, character roles and comedy roles.
