Gunnar Gundersen (politician)
Gunnar Gundersen (born 21 May 1956 in Åsnes) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Hedmark in 2005. On the local level he was a deputy member of Åsnes municipal council from 1999 to 2007. He chaired the county party chapter from 2004 to 2005, and was a member of the Conservative Party central board in the same period. He studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison 1975-1979 and the University of California, Berkeley 1981–1982. He worked as a research assistant at the Norwegian College of Agriculture from 1982 to 1985, and then as a local businessman. Gundersen is also a former Olympic swimmer. He competed in the men's 400 metre individual medley at the 1976 Summer Olympics. His son Tore Andreas Gundersen Tore Andreas Gundersen (born 4 February 1986) is a retired football player. Tore Andreas Gundersen (born 4 February 1986) is a retired football player. Gundersen was born in Kongsvinger, grew up in Flisa and is a son of politician and former swimmer Gunnar Gundersen. Gundersen began his career with Flisa IL, before joining Kongsvinger IL in January 2003. After three years there he signed for Lillestrøm SK in January 2007. After a disappointing season he joined Lyngby Boldklub on a loan in August 2008. In Denmark he scored four goals in nine games for Lyngby Boldklub and returned to Lillestrøm, and was subsequently loaned out to Nybergsund IL-Trysil in January 2009. In January 2010, he moved to Germany, joining Dynamo Dresden of the 3. Liga. Hedmark () was a county in Norway before 1 January 2020, bordering Trøndelag to the north, Oppland to the west, Akershus to the south, and Sweden to the east. The county administration is in Hamar.
