Gujarat Cricket Team
The Gujarat cricket team is one of three first-class cricket teams representing the state of Gujarat (the other two being the Baroda cricket team and Saurashtra cricket team). Led by Parthiv Patel, Gujarat won their maiden Ranji Trophy title in the 2016–17 season, beating Mumbai in the final at Indore. In that match they made the highest successful run-chase in the final of the Ranji Trophy. It is in the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy although it has had very little success. There have, however, been many cricketers that have passed through its ranks and gone on to play for the Indian cricket team. It falls under the West Zone in the Duleep Trophy. Priyank Panchal
Priyank Kiritbhai Panchal (born 9 April 1990) is an Indian domestic cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who plays for Gujarat. He was born in Ahmedabad. Career Panchal made his first cricketing appearance for the Under-15s in the 2003–04 Polly Umrigar Trophy, in which he played for two seasons. He stepped up to the Under-17s team, for whom, in his last fixture of the 2005–06 Vijay Merchant Trophy, he scored a century. The following season, he played in both the limited overs competition and the three-day game. On 27 February 2008, he made his List-A debut against Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, playing for Gujarat, where he scored 123 runs in 115 balls with the help of 17 fours and 1 six. Holkar Cricket Team
The Madhya Pradesh cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It competes in the Ranji Trophy. History Holkar cricket team A Central India team competed in the Ranji Trophy between 1934–35 and 1939–40, playing 12 matches. In 1941, Holkar entered the competition, organised and managed by King Yashwantrao Holkar II belonging to the Holkar dynasty of the Marathas. In the fourteen years of its existence Holkar, which included such players as C. K. Nayudu and Mushtaq Ali, won the title four times and finished second on six other occasions. Nari Contractor
Nariman Jamshedji "Nari" Contractor (born 7 March 1934) is a former Indian cricket player, who was a left-handed opening batsman. His professional career ended after a serious injury. Cricket career Contractor began his first-class career, playing for the Gujarat. The captain of Gujarat Phiroz Khambata saw how Nari played in the selection trial matches for MCA's Silver Jubilee matches in 1955. He did well in the trials and expected to be selected for the matches against Pakistan Services & Bhawalpur Cricket Association. He got to the team because Captain Kambatha had dropped out. Contractor scored hundreds in both innings of his debut, becoming the second man after Arthur Morris to do so. Later he was chosen to play for India. Vinoo Mankad
Mulvantrai Himmatlal "Vinoo" Mankad (; 12 April 1917 – 21 August 1978) was an Indian cricketer who appeared in 44 Test matches for India between 1946 and 1959. He was best known for his world record setting opening partnership of 413 runs with Pankaj Roy in 1956, a record that stood for 52 years, and for running out a batsman "backing up" at the non-striker's end. Mankadding in cricket is named after him. In June 2021, he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. Lalabhai Contractor Stadium
Lalbhai Contractor Stadium is a cricket stadium in Surat, Gujarat, India. The stadium is owned by the Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA). The first match played at the stadium was a Duleep Trophy match between West Zone and East Zone in 1993. The stadium hosted 15 cricket matches over the following 20 years, including Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Duleep Trophy matches. Samit Gohel (born 13 September 1990) is an Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Tripura. The Holkar (Pronunciation: �o(ː)ɭkəɾ dynasty was a Maratha clan of Dhangar origin in India. The Holkars were generals under Peshwa Baji Rao I, and later became Maharajas of Indore in Central India as an independent member of the Maratha Empire until 1818.
