Guillermo Rocamora
Guillermo Rocamora (born 1981) is a Uruguayan filmmaker. He first started working as a filmmaker in 2004. He worked for three years on his directorial debut, ''Solo'', prior to its release, in 2015. He is a graduate of the Universidad de la República and also studied at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba. In 2019 he released a documentary on Mohammed Abdullah Taha Mattan The United States Department of Defense acknowledges holding three Palestinian detainees in Guantanamo. A total of 778 detainees have been held in extrajudicial detention in the Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba since the camps opened on J ..., one of six individuals formerly held in the Guantanamo detention camps for a dozen years, who were granted political asylum in Uruguay in 2014. The University of the Republic ( es, Universidad de la República, sometimes ''UdelaR'') is Uruguay's oldest public university. The Guantanamo Bay detention camp ( es, Centro de detención de la bahía de Guantánamo) is a United States military prison located within Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, also referred to as Guantánamo, GTMO, and Gitmo (), on the coast of Guantánamo Bay in Cuba. Of the roughly 780 people detained there since January 2002 when the military prison first opened after the September 11 attacks, 735 have been transferred elsewhere, 35 remain there, and 9 have died while in custody. The camp was established by U.S. President George W. Bush's administration in 2002 during the War on Terror following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
