Guillemette Laurens
Guillemette Laurens (born 6 November 1957 in Fontainebleau, France) is a French operatic mezzo-soprano. Guillemette trained at the Academy of Toulouse and debuted as Baba in ''The Rake's Progress'' at Salle Favart. She took part in the premiere recording of Lully's '' Atys'' conducted by William Christie. She is a highly respected singer of Baroque music, both as a soprano and a mezzo-soprano. Fontainebleau (; ) is a commune in the metropolitan area of Paris, France. It is located south-southeast of the centre of Paris. Diego Fasolis (born 19 April 1958) is a Swiss classical organist and conductor, the leader of the ensemble I Barocchisti. He has conducted operas in historically informed performance at major European opera houses and festivals, and has made award-winning recordings. Career Born in Lugano, Fasolis studied in Zurich, at both the Zurich Conservatory and the Musikhochschule, organ with Erich Vollenwyder, piano with Jürg Wintschger, voice with Carol Smith, and conducting with Klaus Knall, achieving all four diplomas with distinction. Francesco Cera (born in Bologna, Italy) is an Italian harpsichordist, organist and conductor. Accomplished performer of Italian Baroque harpsichord and organ repertoire, he was a student of Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam (1989–90), then in 1991 became member of the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico. The ''Oratorio de Noël'', Op. 12, by Camille Saint-Saëns, also known as his Christmas Oratorio, is a cantata-like work scored for soloists, chorus, organ, strings and harp. While an organist at La Madeleine, Saint-Saëns wrote the Christmas oratorio in less than a fortnight, completing it ten days before its premiere on Christmas 1858. The vocal score of this oratorio was prepared later by the composer and organist Eugene Gigout, a colleague of Saint-Saëns. Performing forces The work is scored for five soloists (soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone), SATB mixed chorus, organ, harp, and strings in the standard five sections. Hugo Reyne
Hugo Reyne (born in 1961) is a contemporary French recorder player, oboist and conductor. He is the founder and music director of La Simphonie du Marais. Biography Born in Paris, Hugo Reyne began learning the flute and oboe at a very young age. In 1984, he won the first prize for chamber music at the Bruges International Chamber Music Competition. In the 1980s, Hugo Reyne played flute and oboe in most of the Parisian baroque ensembles, and from 1983 to 1996 he played the 1st flute at the Arts Florissants under the direction of William Christie. He has worked with conductors such as Frans Brüggen, Philippe Herreweghe, Gustav Leonhardt and Jordi Savall.
