A full-time job is employment in which workers work a minimum number of hours defined as such by their employer. Overview Full-time employment often comes with benefits that are not typically offered to part-time, temporary, or flexible workers, such as annual leave, sick leave, and health insurance. Part-time jobs are mistakenly thought by some to not be careers. However, legislation exists to stop employers from discriminating against part-time workers so this should not be a factor when making decisions on career advancement. Guilford Technical Community College
Guilford Technical Community College (Guilford Tech, "G-Tech", or GTCC) is a public community college in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. It is the fourth largest institution in the North Carolina Community College System and the largest in the Piedmont Triad. Guilford Technical Community College also has campuses in Jamestown, High Point, Greensboro, and Colfax. History The college was founded as the Guilford Industrial Education Center on April 3, 1958 as a training facility established to prepare workers for technical jobs created by the rapid manufacturing growth in the county. The future GTCC opened that August in Jamestown on the site of the former Guilford County Tuberculosis Sanatorium 924-1955with 50 students enrolled in two classes. Western Guilford High School
Western Guilford High School is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and is part of the Guilford County School system. The school has approximately 1,300 students and its sports teams are the Fighting Hornets. The school opened in the fall of 1968. In September 2000, Western Guilford was renovated via public bond. The design of the new addition integrates different components of the campus by introducing new circulation patterns. A new entry gallery at the front entry to the school was designed; along with art and classroom additions that form an internal courtyard. Walter Hines Page Senior High School is a public high school in Greensboro, North Carolina commonly referred to as Page High School or simply Page. History Walter Hines Page Senior High School opened its doors in September, 1958, under the leadership of Principal Luther R. Medlin (formerly the principal of Central Junior High School). The school was named for Walter Hines Page, a North Carolina journalist, diplomat, supporter of education, and ambassador to Great Britain. In 1967, Medlin, who had led the school through its developmental years, left Page to become President of Guilford Technical Institute (now Guilford Technical Community College). Southwest Guilford High School (North Carolina)
Southwest Guilford High School is a secondary school in High Point, North Carolina, United States established in 1979. It serves grades nine through twelve. The school was recently renovated and expanded to add more class rooms, a media center, and a gymnasium. The new gymnasium is the largest high school gym in Guilford County. The gym is named after long time SW Guilford teacher and coach Jim Coggins. Athletics The Southwest Guilford Athletic program is led by athletic director Brindon Christman. Southern Guilford High School
Southern Guilford High School was founded in 1970 in the Sumner area of Guilford County, North Carolina, United States. For the 2014–2015 school year, Southern had an enrollment of 1220 in grades 9–12, and 70 teachers. The school's current principal is Brian Muller. The school operates on a block, college-styled schedule (with four classes each semester), as opposed to the traditional bell schedule that has six periods year-long. Southeast Guilford High School
Southeast Guilford High School is a public high school located in southeast Guilford County, off U.S. Route 421. Southeast High School is part of the Guilford County School System. Southeast High School is located near Forest Oaks Country Club, former site of the Wyndham Championship. The campus consists of two main buildings and numerous mobile units for classrooms, including a new cafeteria. Northwest Guilford High School is a public high school in Guilford County, North Carolina. It currently has an enrollment of 1,947 students in grades 9 through 12. Northern Guilford High School
Northern Guilford High School is a public high school located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is situated in proximity to NC Highway 150, which connects to Browns Summit and to Summerfield. It opened its doors to students on January 29, 2008. The school was built because of the overcrowding of Northwest Guilford and Northeast Guilford high schools. Northeast Guilford High School
Northeast Guilford High School is a secondary school located in McLeansville, North Carolina. The school serves grades nine through twelve, with an enrollment of 1265 students for the 2007 school year. Demographically, the school serves primarily Caucasian and African American students, who make up 47% and 43% of total enrollment respectively.
