Guglielmo Franchetti
Guglielmo Franchetti or Gino Franchetti (born 5 October 1985) is former motorcycle speedway rider from Italy. Career Franchetti was a member of Italy national speedway team, earning 5 international caps and was twice Italian National Champion in 2009 and 2012. He rode in the British leagues for Berwick Bandits during the 2008 Premier League speedway season and 2009 Premier League speedway season. He then rode for the Plymouth Devils in 2011 and 2012. Berwick Bandits
The Berwick Bandits are a British speedway club, based in Berwick-upon-Tweed. They currently compete in the SGB Championship, racing at Shielfield Park, with home matches usually taking place on Saturday evenings. They also run a second team in the National Development League, known as the Berwick Bullets. History 1968–1981 Berwick have been operational in consecutive seasons from 1968 (as founder members of British League Division Two) through to the present day. From 1968 to 1980 they competed in division 2, either in the British League Division 2, or under the new name of the National League (NL). The team won their first honour during the 1980 National League season after winning the Division 2 Knockout Cup. In 1980, Berwick left Shielfield Park after a disagreement with the landlords Berwick Rangers FC. The Speedway Grand Prix of Italy (SGP) is a speedway event that is a part of the Speedway Grand Prix Series. History The first ever Italian SGP was held in the 1996 season and was won by Dane Hans Nielsen. The next SGP was held nine years later in 2005. 2009 European Pairs Speedway Championship
The 2009 European Pairs Speedway Championship was the sixth edition of the UEM European Pairs Speedway Championship. The Final was held on 26 September 2009 in Miskolc, Hungary; it was second Final in Hungary, but first in Miskolc. The championship was won by Czech Republic pair and they beat Russia and the defending Champions Poland. Results In the Final will be the defending Champion Poland, Czech Republic (2nd place in 2008 Final), Russia (3rd place), host team Hungary (4th place) and Latvia (5th place). The European Pairs Speedway Championship is an annual speedway event held in different countries organized by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) since 2004.
