Gueule D'amour
''Lady Killer'' (french: Gueule d'amour) is a 1937 French drama film directed by Jean Grémillon and starring Jean Gabin, Mireille Balin and Marguerite Deval. It has been classified as both a film noir and an entry into the poetic realist group of films of the late 1930s. It was produced by the German company UFA in conjunction with its own French subsidiary ACE. Like ''Port of Shadows'' it drew on the tradition of German expressionism in its lighting and set design, although the Nazi authorities were opposed to the expressionist style. It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin and on location around Cannes, Orange and Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Hermann Asmus and Max Mellin. The film was selected for screening as part of the Cannes Classics section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Jane Marken (born Jeanne Berthe Adolphine Crabbe, sometimes credited as Jeanne Marken, 13 January 1895 in Paris 10th arrondissement – 1 December 1976 in Paris 4th arrondissement) was a French actress. René Lefèvre (actor)
René Lefèvre, born René Paul Louis Lefèvre, (6 March 1898 – 23 May 1991) was a French actor and writer. Throughout his career, he worked with several notable directors, like Jean Renoir, Jean-Pierre Melville, Jules Dassin, and René Clair. Career Lefèvre made his debut in the 1920s when he acted in numerous films in small roles. His first film of note was ''Le Million'', directed by René Clair in 1931. He later had the fortune of starring in the title role in ''The Crime of Monsieur Lange'', directed by Jean Renoir. He kept appearing in films until the late 70s, landing a small role in Jean-Pierre Melville's ''Le Doulos'' in 1962. He died in 1991 in Poissy. Pierre Frédéric Magnier (February 22, 1869 - October 15, 1959) was a French actor who began on the stage in the 1890s and became a prominent silent film actor in France. The 69th Cannes Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 May 2016. Australian director George Miller was the President of the Jury for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. On 15 March it was announced that Japanese director Naomi Kawase would serve as the Cinéfondation and Short Film Jury president.
