André-Michel Guerry
André-Michel Guerry (; December 24, 1802 – April 9, 1866) was a French lawyer and amateur statistician. Together with Adolphe Quetelet he may be regarded as the founder of moral statistics which led to the development of criminology, sociology and ultimately, modern social science. Early life and education Guerry was born in Tours, Indre-et-Loire, the only child of Michel Guerry, a building contractor, whose family had a long history as innkeepers, merchants, farmers and trades-people. About 1817-1820 he studied at the Imperial College of Tours (now the Lyceum Descartes, founded in 1807) and subsequently studied law at the University of Poitiers. About 18241825 he moved to Paris and was admitted to the bar as a royal advocate. Shortly after, he was employed by the Ministry of Justice. Guerry Romondt (born 10 August 1985) is a Haitian footballer who currently plays for Arcahaie. Youth career Romondt left his hometown of Port-de-paix in 1999 to go to Port-au-Prince to train with a small club named Sophisa FC. Club career Romondt started his career with Racing Club Haïtien in 2003. In 2005, he left to play in the second division of Haitian football for the AS Saint-Louis du Nord (ASSL). A year removed and he left to play for Zénith. After a year at Zénith, Romondt went back to ASSL. In 2011, he signed to play with Tempête where he won the Ligue Haïtienne that year. In 2015, Romondt left Tempête for FICA and has won two back-to-back championships between 2015 and 2016. Alexander "Zan" Guerry III (born February 12, 1949) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Guerry, winner of the Under-16s Orange Bowl title in 1964, grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and won 13 national junior titles in the 1960s. He attended Baylor School in Chattanooga, at the same time as Roscoe Tanner, a teammate in the school's tennis team. College After finishing at Baylor in 1967, Guerry went to Rice University for four years and played in a strong varsity side which were runners-up in the NCAA Championships twice, in 1968 and 1970. He was a losing finalist, to Butch Seewagen, at the 1969 United States Amateur Championships and earned multiple All-American selections, before graduating in 1971. Following that he went to Wharton Business School and worked at the Texas Commerce Bank in Houston as a financial planner when not playing tennis. Helen de Guerry Simpson (1 December 1897 – 14 October 1940) was an Australian novelist and British Liberal Party politician. Youth and education Simpson was born in Sydney into a family that had been settled in New South Wales for over 100 years. Her great-grandfather, Piers Simpson, R.N., was associated with Sir Thomas Mitchell and her maternal grandfather, the Marquis de Lauret, settled at Goulburn some 50 years before her birth. Her father, Edward Percy Simpson, was a well-known solicitor at Sydney who married Anne de Lauret. Helen Simpson was educated at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Rose Bay (now called Kincoppal-Rose Bay, School of the Sacred Heart) and at Abbotsleigh, Wahroonga and, in 1914, she went to France for further study.
