Guerrilla Warfare (album)
''Guerrilla Warfare'' is the second studio album by the New Orleans hip-hop group Hot Boys, released on July 27, 1999, on Cash Money Records. It was an instant hit, debuting at #5 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums selling 142,000 copies in its first week, and remains their most successful album as a group and with Cash Money Records. Produced by Mannie Fresh, ''Guerrilla Warfare'' contains the lead single, "We On Fire", which was placed at #49 on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles. Other charting tracks include "I Need A Hot Girl" which also peaked at #65 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The album was recorded in one week's time at the Circle House recording studio in Miami, according to group member Turk. Commercial performance ''Guerrilla Warfare'' was certified Platinum by RIAA on November 1, 1999. The album has sold over 1,500,000 copies since its release. The Hot Boys (often styled as Hot Boy$) are an American hip hop group formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1997. The group is made up of B.G. (rapper), B.G., Lil Wayne, Juvenile (rapper), Juvenile and Turk (rapper), Turk. The group was originally formed in 1997, and released their debut recording studio LP ''Get It How U Live!'' the same year on then-independent label Cash Money Records, Cash Money to local success, selling 400,000 copies primarily in the south. Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. (born September 27, 1982), known professionally as Lil Wayne, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record executive. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Tab Virgil Jr. (born February 8, 1981) better known by his stage name Turk (sometimes "Young Turk" or "Hot Boy Turk"), is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States.
